Standard ACH Using QB Desktop Bill Pay powered by Melio - Free or not?

Using the current version of QB Desktop Enterprise, and the in-build Bill Pay (powered by Melio), should there be charges for paying vendors via standard ACH payments?
Looking for information on whether Melio is supposed to be charging $.50 per transaction for every standard ACH payment made. Please advise if anyone does or does not have to pay this.

Detail:
I see several resources and had been told by both QB and Melio representatives that there should be no subscription and no transaction charges when using Bill Pay from inside QB Desktop and paying via standard ACH. Now that I’m signed up and validated, I see it says $.50/payment.

QB articles (e.g. https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/pay-bills/pay-bills-online-quickbooks-desktop/L6WGM9bGo_US_en_US) indicate is is free. The text on page states: “Are there any fees? The Bill Pay service doesn't carry any extra subscription fees. It's included as a free online offering within your current QuickBooks Desktop product. For standard payments made via bank transfer (ACH), you won't be charged any transaction fees.“ The video shows it is free. However, once signed up, it shows that charges are required.

Hoping to resolve this discrepancy. If there is a setting require to make this free, please advise.

Yes, Bill Pay powered by Melio is built into QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise at no extra subscription cost. The fee prompt you're seeing isn't a subscription charge. It is Melio's identity and business verification step needed to activate the service.

The $0.50 charge you mentioned is tied to QuickBooks Online's Bill Pay service for standard ACH transfers. Since you're using QuickBooks Desktop, please reach out to our Intuit Support Experts so they can review the prompt with you and help bypass it.

For more details, see the Help with Bill Pay section in this article: Pay bills online from QuickBooks Desktop.

@FTK101 I would recommend to sign up a separate Melio account and connect it with your QB Desktop.

You can start using Boost plan and receive 50 free ACH payment per month. Other benefits are Melio team will handle your problem directly without involving Intuit team to speed up the process and you can accept B2B payment from your clients.

When is your QB Desktop renewal date this year?
