Hello just trying to clear up my withheld payments. They have been with held for almost a month. I'm just trying to figure out how to fix the situation. I have responded to all emails and have given them everything they asked for.

Literally going through this right now.  Payments held since February 28th.   Tens of thousands.  Quickbooks apparently tried to make a deposit right when my account was locked for suspected fraud.  It was literally locked for an hour or so until I called the bank.

That's all it took.

Now, after hours on the phone and in live chat, I'm left with two options:

1) Have my bank write a letter saying my account is open for transactions, verify that it was locked at the time and have it signed by a representative
2) "Update my bank account" AKA - get a new bank account.   Literally.

Called Capital One (my bank).   Guess what they don't do?   Customized letters.  They will hop on a 3-way call however.  But guess who doesn't do 3-way calls?  Quickbooks.

Capital One has a boilerplate verified account letter I can download, but that isn't good enough for Quickbooks.

So, now my only option is to get a new bank account.   Because, you know, that's SUPER convenient.

I'm beyond pissed off.   Quickbooks is holding OUR money, but making me jump through hoops to get it.   Not only that, one of the largest banks in the world can't accommodate their request of a letter....that should tell these people they need to modify their "Company Policy".

I'm not sure how i'm going to make payroll.  Some vendors have already suspended our accounts.   This is what happens when companies become so disconnected from their customers.   Already switched to Stripe.   Switching to Freshbooks for accounting and invoicing.

I own a marketing agency so we're already getting a plan together to get the word out.   We would love to get in touch with businesses affected by this, so comment below if you are interested and we'll reach out.

I hope they give you your money! QB is still holding over $6,000 because my account is "frozen" and no one is following up because I already spent 55hrs + on the phone with QB and everyone I talked to cannot help. This started Feb 2022 and as a small business owner, it's an absolute nightmare for customer service.

I am going through this right now.

I'm even a reseller and can't get my own money released!

NO EMAILS NO Resolution center NO communication and the 3 people I've spoken to cannot understand it either when all we did was update our bank info because we switched banks.

I need this resolved NOW!

I've signed up over 30 accounts in the last 3 months, and I WILL BE MOVING Them from INTUIT

This is ridiculous

Hi, @erinleigh.

Thanks for joining this conversation. Allow me to chime in and help make sure this is taken care of for you.

As much as I'd like to assist you with this, I'm unable to pull up your account here in the Community for security purposes.

That said, I highly suggest contacting our Merchant Support team again. I know you already called, but they're the one who can check your account in a secure environment verify the cause of this odd behavior. They can also create a ticket and forward it to our product engineers for further investigation.

To reach them, refer to this article and proceed the version that you're using for the detailed steps on how: Contact Payments or Point of Sale Support.

I also recommend visiting our website for more tips and other resources you can use in the future: Self-help articles.

I'm only a few clicks away if you have additional questions about this or anything else QuickBooks. I'll be more than happy to help. Take care always.

Hi Fritz,

I've spoken to 3 people in Merchant and no one can figure out why this is happening.

No email sent

Nothing in resolution center

no notes on my case...just "HOLD"

NO ONE I"ve spoken to has been able to see why this is happening so I can get it taken care of.

I'm not a big merchant like the others in this post but money is money.

And I have my own people to pay as well.

And for this to be happening with NO Communication or the fact that the employees can't even see why is astounding and BAD for Business.

Looking for legal help with this matter. I definitely can hold off the 39k. Wont break my business, or really even feel the 39k. If anyone know any attorneys that would help take this case please let me know. Or if someone has used an attorney to draw attention to this matter. I will not call 40times to get the run around. The principle of the matter is more important. I know principle is expensive and am well funded to take this fight. Any help is appreciate.

Same problem. I used QB payments to process a handful of payments. The first one was completed with no issues. The second and third appeared to be the same until roughly 5 days after the payments were initiated. The day I was suppose to receive the deposit I tried to login to my payments account only to find out it had been closed with no notice or explanation. When I looked at the status of the deposits they now both showed as withheld. I've been trying to contact support regarding the issue for almost 2 weeks now. Everytime I finally am able to talk to a representative they have either told me I need to contact a different department or that they'll escalate my case and I will get an email about it within a couple days. Have yet to receive said emails. I've talked to my customer about the charges and they have provided proof that both transactions had been withdrawn from their bank account within a couple days of when they were initiated. So essentially quickbooks is just keeping my money with no explanation or notice and no way for me to be able to remedy the issue. There's no possible way that this is legal. It's nothing short of theft honestly.

Hi st3ns0n91,

It seems like you've posted the same concern. My colleague already posted their response. You can view it through this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/other-questions/re-quickbook-deposits-withheld/01/1138658#M111643.

Feel free to mention my name if you have other concerns.

It has been 3 months now that quickbooks has been collecting our money. We have submitted all the documents and constantly being told they don't have them.  I have requested a call back from a supervisor and never gotten it. On the merchant services page it says I have no open cases yet they are holding almost $10,000.00  They are making money on our money sitting in the bank earning interest for them while we are paying them for the service that we are not getting and losing the money that we should be making an interest no wonder these companies are making Gargantua's profits every quarter. As I see that they are doing this to so many people. I will speak with a lawyer if this is not settled immediately. Maybe everyone who reads this should think about a class action lawsuit against quickbooks.

Hi Christina,

I know that you've been waiting for some time and would like to do our best to move things along. We'll submit a request to the Payments department to review your transactions, and someone should be reaching out to you to provide an update.

Feel free to go reach back out if you have any other concerns with your transactions. Take care and have a good one.

Same thing happening to me for the second time.

I'm switching the processing to square after this.

I'm waiting for them to deposit my money.

December 11, 2023

Same thing happened to us recently. I think is unacceptable. I have 3 weeks beginning for my money. Unbelievable

April 2, 2024

The reality is they hold these on purpose so they can make money off all their customers deposits. Same stuff happens to me constantly and the same customers are paying me. They sell the service like get your money faster , but I’ll go back to taking checks because as a small business constantly being held 10-20k for weeks on end is not sustainable

I am going through something similar. They waited for a substantial deposit or three, took the dividends, then canceled my card and my "quickbooks checking" account in order to trap our funds. I plan on seeing our parent company's legal team and filing a grievance with the FTA.
