Employees who are assigned to customers or projects are now asked to choose one when they clock in or out on the QuickBooks Workforce app. Previously, the app could skip the customer step, and the clock in or clock out would fail with a generic error. Employees now pick a customer up front instead of retrying a punch that won't save.
When you add a product or service, the 'Sales tax category' you pick is no longer replaced by an automatic suggestion as you fill in other fields. The suggestion can still fill in first, but your choice is kept once you make one. You no longer have to recheck the field before you save each item.
When updating a vendor's existing ACH bank details fails, QuickBooks now shows 'This account can't be added. Try a different account.' Previously, the message would say 'There was an issue saving this data. Try again later', even though retrying the same account would not work. You now know to use a different account instead of retrying.
On the 'Posted' tab of your bank transactions, US customers can now bulk reclassify posted sales receipts, which was already available outside the US. All customers can now edit posted sales receipts inline, even with class and location tracking turned off. Fix categories on posted sales receipts without opening each one.
When you pick a value for a standard or custom field on an active timesheet in the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, the selected value now shows on the time clock screen. Previously, the screen would keep showing the old value even though the new one was saved. You can now confirm your entry at a glance without reopening the field.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on Android, changing the app's location permission to 'Always' after you clock in no longer causes a long load followed by a crash. You can now update location access without losing your place in the app.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app, opening a timesheet when the request times out now shows an error you can act on instead of a spinner that never stops. When your device is offline, the app shows its no connection screen. You can now retry or move on instead of closing the timesheet to escape.
For companies on free or limited plans, the usage meter card at the top of 'Home' in the Android app no longer disappears after you scroll. You can keep an eye on your usage without pulling down to refresh.
When you add or update a vendor's ACH bank details in the vendor profile for bill pay, QuickBooks no longer shows 'Saved' if the details didn't actually save. If the bank account can't be used, you now see 'This account can't be added. Try a different account.' No more finding blank account and routing numbers later and re-entering them before you can pay the vendor.
After you save or schedule a payment that uses vendor credits in Pay Bills, the vendor credit tray and the available total now show only the credits that remain. Previously, used credits would still appear as available, even after reopening Pay Bills, so they could be selected again. You no longer have a scheduled payment fail because a credit was already used.
The 'Add new' option for creating reports and KPIs is now visible by default in Modern Reports. New prompts point you to it the first time you look. Less hunting through menus when you want to build a new report.
You can now cancel a scheduled bill payment in Pay Bills after QuickBooks resent it to your vendor by a different payment method. Previously, the cancellation would be rejected with an error even though the payment could still be canceled. You can stop the payment yourself instead of contacting support.
You can now set a task in 'Needs Attention' to repeat automatically, whichever QuickBooks plan you're on. Routine to-dos come back on their own schedule. No more recreating the same task every time it comes due.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, tapping 'Refresh' on the Timesheets list error screen now reloads your timesheets. Previously, the button could repeat the wrong action and leave you on the error screen. You can now recover from a load error with one tap.
When employees enter a timesheet start or end time in the future on the QuickBooks Workforce app for Android, errors now appear right on the start and end time fields. Previously, the app would show a generic full-screen error that didn't say which time was wrong. Employees now know which time to fix instead of retrying an entry that won't save.
When employees clock out on the QuickBooks Workforce app with an end time in the future, the app now shows an error on the time fields instead of blocking them. Previously, the app would show a generic full-screen error, and retrying wouldn't help. Employees now know which time to fix so they can finish clocking out.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app, employees in affected companies can now clock out without seeing 'Your info didn't load. Refreshing the page should resolve the issue.' The app now applies the company's assignment and required field settings correctly. You no longer need to clock out on the web as a workaround.
When employees clock out on the QuickBooks Workforce app with an end time earlier than their clock-in time, the app now shows an error on the end time field. Previously, the app would show a generic full-screen error, and retrying wouldn't help. Employees now know which time to fix so they can finish clocking out.
In the QuickBooks Workforce app on iOS, adding a manual timesheet now works after you select the start or end time. Previously, the timesheet would stop rendering once the time was picked. You can now add missed time from your phone in one pass.
When employees clock in on the QuickBooks Workforce app for Android with a start time in the future, an error now appears right on the start time field. Previously, the app would show a generic full-screen error that didn't explain the problem. Employees now know what to correct instead of retrying an entry that won't save.
When employees enter a timesheet start time that's after the end time on the QuickBooks Workforce app for Android, an error now appears right on the end time field. Previously, the app would show a generic full-screen error that didn't explain the problem. Employees now know what to correct instead of retrying an entry that won't save.
When employees end a break on the QuickBooks Workforce app for Android and the break length isn't allowed by their break rules, the app now shows a specific error message. Previously, the app would show a generic full-screen error with no explanation. Employees now know why the break didn't end instead of retrying.
Clocking in on the QuickBooks Workforce app for iOS now sends a single clock-in, so employees no longer end up with two open timesheets for the same shift. Previously, a duplicate entry could be created, and later edits or clocking out would fail with an already clocked in error. Employees can now edit and close out their timesheet without getting stuck.
When you add a vendor's ACH bank details and they can't be saved, QuickBooks now shows 'This account can't be added. Try a different account.' Previously, the details could fail to save without a clear error, and you would only find out when you tried to schedule a bill payment. You can now fix the vendor's bank details right away instead of discovering the problem at payment time.
When you enter a vendor's ACH bank details in the vendor details panel, QuickBooks now checks the routing and account numbers as you type. The 'Save' button stays unavailable until the details are valid or left empty. You catch bank detail mistakes before they block a bill payment.
