After you edit your bank account, QuickBooks now prompts you to update the bank account payroll posts to in your books. Previously, payroll would keep posting to the old account until you changed the mapping yourself in your payroll settings. You now avoid payroll transactions landing in an old or closed account and the cleanup that follows.
When you log a 'New Trip' in Mileage, the form now moves up so the 'Distance' field stays visible above the keyboard. See what you're typing as you enter trip distance, so you get it right the first time.
Start and end addresses on the 'Unreviewed' tab in Mileage now wrap onto two lines instead of getting cut off. The same applies when you review trips in bulk. Tell trips apart at a glance without opening each one to check where it went.
When a payroll transaction cannot sync to your books because a customer it uses was deleted, the sync error now says the customer was deleted. Previously, this error would say an employee was deleted. You now know which record to fix without guessing.
When you schedule bill payments in Pay Bills, you can now apply available vendor credits to the bills you're paying. The credit reduces the amount paid to the vendor for those bills. You no longer need to apply credits separately before paying.
The swipe hint animation in the Android app's bank transactions list now plays only the first time you open the list and doesn't repeat after that. Less animation to sit through while you review transactions.
When you run payroll, the Run Payroll screen now shows a warning if accounts your payroll needs are missing from your books. If your payroll accounting preferences are not set up, the error message now includes a link straight to those preferences. You can fix the setup and get back to payroll without hunting for the right settings page.
The 'What is the tax?' field shows again on the 'Add Expense' form in the iOS app for non-US companies (e.g. UK and Canada). If you've set up taxes in 'Settings', you can add VAT or sales tax to an expense right as you enter it. No more going back to the web to add tax to expenses you created on your phone.
Previously, when two people on your team saved invoices at the same moment, both invoices could get the same invoice number with no warning. QuickBooks now catches the duplicate number even when saves happen at the same time, so you're warned just as you would be otherwise. Your team can invoice at the same time instead of taking turns.
UK customers can now add attachments to bank transactions in the iOS app while categorizing them. Previously, the 'Attach' button wouldn't respond and the 'Add notes and attachments' option could appear greyed out. Attach receipts as you categorize on your phone, without finishing the job later on the web.
The account number settings in the Chart of Accounts list were updated. Less time adjusting how account numbers appear while you work in your list.
The Chart of Accounts screen has been updated, starting with a new connection icon, lighter account type badges and arrows that show subaccounts. The related changes in these notes cover filters, columns, editing and bulk actions. Together they cut the time you spend finding and managing your accounts.
While your accounts load, the Chart of Accounts list now shows a placeholder version of the grid instead of an empty screen. You can tell the page is working, so there's no need to refresh.
The settings drawer you use to customize the Chart of Accounts was updated to match the new list design, including its column visibility options. Less time hunting for the setting you want to change.
When you batch edit in the Chart of Accounts, the 'Save' and 'Cancel' buttons now stay pinned to the bottom of the screen as you scroll. No more scrolling back down a long list just to save your edits.
The Chart of Accounts list now does less work when it first opens and when you select 'Apply' on your filters. Less waiting before you can see and work with your accounts.
Column settings and default column widths in the Chart of Accounts list were adjusted. Less time resizing columns to read your account details.
Options in the Chart of Accounts settings drawer now show report type badges. Less time checking where an account shows up in your reports.
You can now turn on 'Show inactive accounts' from the settings drawer in the Chart of Accounts. Find inactive accounts in fewer clicks when you need to review them.
The 'Action' column in the Chart of Accounts list now takes up less space by default. More room for your account details, with less side scrolling.
Previously, after you clicked 'Customize' in the Chart of Accounts list, the popover would stay open. It now closes as expected, so you can get back to your accounts without working around it.
The Chart of Accounts list now opens with the 'Cozy' row density setting. You get an easy-to-scan layout without changing the setting yourself.
The Chart of Accounts list now loads 200 accounts per page by default. If you have a long list of accounts, you page through it less often.
The 'QuickBooks balance' column in the Chart of Accounts list now takes up less width. More of your account details fit on screen, with less side scrolling.
When you haven't applied any filters, the row of filter pills (e.g. 'Status: All') no longer shows above the Chart of Accounts list. Your accounts start higher on the page, so you scroll less to reach them.
