Let me show you how to restore a deleted customer, Philippa2.

In QuickBooks Online, you can only make them inactive which means we can activate them again anytime. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Customers.
  2. Click the Settings, small Gear icon beside the Export button, and check the Include inactive box.
  3. Find the inactive customer and click the Make active link under the Action button.

You can also use the search bar if the customer doesn't appear on the list. I've added these links on how to handle customer and transactions:

Shoot me a reply if you have more questions. Stay safe!

Make active does not appear.  However, Make Inactive does, though the customer is already inactive.

This happens if a duplicate profile was saved with a slightly different character, or if the client has open transactions preventing the system from making it inactive.

I recommend reviewing your customer profiles to find similar names and making them inactive to avoid confusion. Also, ensure all transactions for that customer are cleared.

However, if you accidentally made a customer inactive and want to reactivate them, I suggest refreshing your browser. This triggers the system to apply your changes and display the Make Active tab.

Let me know if you have any questions.
