I appreciate you turning to the QuickBooks Community for support. I'd be happy to provide some information regarding Payments. Before we begin, can you tell me if your referring to the Payments feature, or how to receive payments from your customers?
I am referring to the option to 'add payment', which then asks if you are charging a payment, or recording a payment already recieved. Once I save the amount applied it normally subtracts it or clears the total owing. On some invoices, no matter how many times I 'add payments', the amount owing does not change.
In this case, Sometimes browsing data accumulates and prevents the software from doing what it is supposed to do. I recommend clearing your cache and cookies, switching to another browser, or trying a private browser. This usually resolves browsing data issues.
