Hi accounts333 The exceptions appear to be causing the issue, you'll be able to verify this by selecting the prepare return option within the taxes page and the exceptions column will be listed. If they're genuine exceptions, that are due to you migrating from another software/desktop or entering historic transactions, we recommend that you contact our telephone support line and an agent will raise this up to our engineers to have the exceptions removed.
Hi accounts333 Are there any expeditions showing when you view the return? If there are then the VAT detail report doesn't include the exceptions.
No, our accountant has confirmed not. So QB states that we have to pay HMRC over £15000 but the detail reports shows only £3000.
Hi accounts333,
Can you check the exception report for this period (Taxes > Select the drop-down beside the open return > View exception details) and verify if any data shows there?
Exceptions are the only reason for a difference between these two reports - if no data shows here please try signing into QuickBooks through an incognito/private browsing window and re-run the reports to check if the difference is still showing there.
Thanks :)
Yes, it shows £1722 VAT claimed on purchases in the exceptions, so makes the difference even bigger
And I've just tried the incognito login and report shows the same. I believe this is an error by QBO and would really like some help to resolve it, as we've paid £12000+ too much VAT. Thanks
