transfer funds via ACH from personal checking (Ally.com) to Quickbooks checking

I am trying to transfer funds from my personal checking with Ally.com to QuickBooks business checking.  However, Ally is saying that transfers are not allowed between Ally and Business accounts.  Is this normal? Is this correct?

transfer funds via ACH from personal checking (Ally.com) to Quickbooks checking

Hi there, @jeffdrobinson. We appreciate you for posting your concern here in the Community space. Let me give you insights about transferring funds using Ally.com.

Note that QuickBooks only relies on how Ally transfers funds to the QuickBooks checking account. For further help transferring funds using Ally, you may contact Ally's support team for guidance on alternative methods since they didn't allow transferring between Ally and Business accounts.

However, you can transfer funds without Ally if your bank account connects with QuickBooks Checking. It will enable you to transmit funds with ease and without any complications. I'll show you how:

  1. In Lending & Banking, choose QuickBooks Checking.
  2. Click Transfer and Transfer money, then put the amount you want to transfer.
  3. Select the connected bank account in the From dropdown and choose the QuickBooks Checking account in the To dropdown.
  4. After that, click Next and hit Finish transfer.

On the other hand, you can also print a check after creating it to pay for expenses. For assistance, check this article: Print a check in QuickBooks Online

transfer funds via ACH from personal checking (Ally.com) to Quickbooks checking

Thank you for your reply @KayePe. What I'm inferring from your reply is what I am dealing with is not normal.  I am able to transfer funds within QuickBooks checking to my personal account via ACH. But, transferring within QuickBooks checking from Ally checking to QuickBooks account vi ACH fails.  I'm presented with this message below which is not helpful because Ally is not allowing me to transfer via ACH from Ally to the QuickBooks checking account either.  When i attempted to do so, they suspended my account's ability to do all external bank transfers!   I had to open a support case to get it resolved.  They say it is against their "policy" to transfer to business accounts.  They will let me do a wire transaction according to their support.  Is this normal? Do all banks have this kind of policy?
Message from QuickBooks when attempting to do an ACH transfer from Ally to QuickBooks:

Not available, but there's another option

You can't add money in QuickBooks Checking right now, but you can still transfer money in from another account.

Here's how:
  1. Log into your other bank account
  2. Find the option to transfer money
  3. Enter your QuickBooks Checking account and routing numbers"
