Question

Search behaviour has changed

I used to be able to type the name of an account in the search bar, for example
a:VAT Control
and it would take me to the account history view.
But now it is taking me to the search result where it is looking for a transaction with "a:VAT Control" in it.
Does anyone know how to get the old behaviour back?

Hello Torben-stones

Are you using the search function in the top right of QuickBooks Online? If so we have tested the product and it should be able to bring up VAT Control and allow you to click into to bring up the history. How are you accessing the QB account?Through a phone/tablet/pc?Which browser are you using?

Thanks

Hello,

That is exactly how I used to do it.

Yes, it is QBO that I am using on a PC.

I am currently using the latest Chrome on the latest version of Windows 10.  Just tried some other a: c: and r: and all of them take me to the search screen where it is looking for a transaction with the reference that I have just typed.

I have tried clearing the cache and cookies to no effect.

Thanks

Hey Torben ,

We have an investigation raised with our engineers for the issue you are experiencing with the search details not appearing when searching using the magnifying glass. This error appears intermittent and is not affecting all customers accounts.

If you would like we can add you to this investigation and you will receive and automatic email once this is fixed.

In the meantime you can use the advanced search or press Ctrl+Alt+A to load the chart of accounts and then use the searchbar to filter the account.

Thanks :)
