Correct payroll check

Let me share some info about correcting paychecks in QuickBooks, @michael125.

You can only change processed and unprocessed checks in Online Payroll. You may check this reference for more information: Change an employee paycheck.

Correcting paycheck when it's already encashed is unavailable in QuickBooks.

I also recommend contacting our support team. This way, they can further review your account and check for alternatives to correct your paycheck.

I will contact support Monday. I am less concerned about “fixing” the amount or check than I am about getting the check booked as payroll appropriately. 

is there a way I can just book it to the correct account and make QBO not leave that payroll checks”open”. Sorry for the layman’s terminology. 

Let me provide you information about correcting payroll checks in QuickBooks Online, and fixing this is our top priority michael125.

You can edit the paycheck before the pay date, however, if you do it after the pay date you'll have to contact our support team so they can update the information. Changing it to the correct account without contacting payroll support isn't possible. 

In addition, you also have an option to delete or void the paycheck. Although, deleting a paycheck can be done if a paycheck isn't processed yet, voiding it changes your paycheck records and updates the dollar amount to zero. Thus, you'll have to adjust it to balance your books. 

 If you want to view useful information about your business and employees, you can run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online.
