Data Migration from Netsuite

I'm happy to provide you with more details about migrating your data from Netsuite to QuickBooks Desktop, but there are a few questions I need you to answer first.

• Do you already have an active QuickBooks subscription?
• Are you migrating from Netsuite to QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Desktop to Netsuite?

Once you answer these questions, I can determine the best options for you to migrate. 

However, in QuickBooks, you can import excel files into your company file. As for Netsuite, I recommend reaching out to their support team for an exact answer. They are more knowledgeable about their product so they can give you any details you need.

To migrate from Netsuite to QuickBooks Desktop version, you can use the third-party converter to ensure that the data is 100% accurate and all links are maintained. To make sure the NetSuite P&L, Balance Sheet and Trial balances match the Quickbooks data file. Also, the open invoices and open bills report in NetSuite will be the same as Quickbooks.

2. Purchase  a 3rd party conversion service. Send your email address in a private message to us. We will introduce you one.

NetSuite conversions require data to be downloaded using the API and CSV files and are then transferred to QuickBooks.

Once you know what data you’ll be bringing into QuickBooks, you should make sure that the upload file contains everything you have highlighted. A CSV file upload is the quickest method of importing data to QuickBooks, but checking that the source data is accurate and complete beforehand should be a given. You should also be sure to have identified required fields and checked that they are included in the CSV file. 

Use a professional third-party conversion provider for a solution or send me a PM for more information.

What they don’t convert?
The following information is not converted:

Bank Reconciliation (You will need to do a single bank reconciliation after the conversion. They will send you instructions to do this.)
Paychecks are converted as Journal Entries (Importing Paychecks is not supported by QuickBooks)
Employee YTD information
Individual employee wage or deduction information
Custom templates
Jobs are not attached to transactions
Budgets
Fixed Asset Items 
Work Tickets
In some cases, fields are not compatible and are not transferred over. You will need to manually enter such fields after the conversion.

Allow me to share some information about the QuickBooks Online (QBO) file size and feature limits.

There isn't a file size limit in QBO. The system loads your data as needed. Meaning, the overall size of the data file doesn’t substantially affect performance. The speed of your internet connection plays a big part. Meeting or exceeding the system requirements for QuickBooks Online improves QuickBooks Online performance more than file size.

For your Netsuite data, I would recommend connecting with Netsuite Support. This way, they verify the process and determine the possible limitations of the number of years (transactions) you can import to QuickBooks.

We do not have a list of third-party apps that can be used to migrate data from NetSuite (and other software) to QuickBooks Enterprise. We can only provide steps to find one in the QuickBooks Desktop App store. However, I couldn't find anything when I did my search, so you might consider searching online using Chrome or Safari.

Please note that browsing through the Web is already outside of our system, so you need to carefully check the background or legitimacy of the third-party software and its provider to ensure the safety of your data.

A different way to import data to QuickBooks Desktop is with the use of Excel, CSV, IIF, and web connect files. The catch is each of these method do not import the entirety of a company file data. For example, the web connect method can only be used to import bank transactions, the Excel option can only be used to import your list of items, names, accounts, etc.

I am also looking for the best route to migrate transactions from NetSuite to QBO Advance. Is there an approved or recommended vendor list that will help

QuickBooks Desktop doesn't offer a direct migration option from NetSuite within its menu. However, you can use Skyvia  to facilitate this migration. Skyvia can connect to both NetSuite and QuickBooks Desktop, allowing you to set up data flows to transfer financial data between the two platforms. It's a versatile and efficient solution for such migrations.
