My items on the screen area have gone back and the print entry areas are in white. How do I get it back to normal.

When I try to update per a recent notice that keeps popping up when I open QB application on my PC, I keep getting errors and have to back out of the update. Error 1328. Error updating file C:\Config.MS\PTFCAD.tmp. System error -1072807676, which give me the option to Abort. Then I receive Error 1712, then Error 1603
I don't have online QB. Mine is a desktop version. So why am I getting information on how to install the online QB?.

The error 1328 normally appears when you're installing, uninstalling, updating, or repairing QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
To get this resolve, I recommend uninstalling your QBDT account and then reinstalling it. Before you uninstall it, make sure you have your license number handy as well as the product year and version.

If you cannot see this option, sign out and sign back into Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights). After that, install QuickBooks Desktop again.

My computer was hi-jacked, money fraudulently taken (my bank did refund me-thank God!) but so much of my day to day data is lost now. I have a backup cd disc from 08/27/24 and had tried to have my local Best Buy restore the data but to no avail - the young man was very nice but so much data is still missing. It is too much to try to restore by hand using paid bill receipts. I still have the back-up cd.
