Payroll

I enter employees' hours on the weekly time sheet, however, when I run payroll I have to key in hours for one of my employees - this happens every time - the same employee - why?

Also, do I have to print paystubs for direct deposit employees when I run payroll?

Payroll

Let's go over some basic troubleshooting steps to ensure that your payroll runs smoothly, RegenaJames.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) is an online platform that uses the browser's cache to run faster. However, this can occasionally become corrupted, affecting its functionality.

Begin by accessing QBO through incognito mode or a private window. This allows you to browse the web without saving your browsing history. To bring one up, follow these steps:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P

If this works, return to your regular browser and clear the cache to start fresh. This troubleshooting will remove the outdated files that cause unexpected behavior in the online program. Alternatively, utilize another browser to see if the source of the issue is caused by the one you were previously using.

In regard to your other concern, you can print the pay stubs and distribute them to your employees. To give your employees the ability to choose when they want to review their W-2 forms and paystubs, use the QuickBooks Workforce feature.

These articles go over everything you need to know about setting up the service and sending out invitations to your employees:

For future reference, let me share the link to the Payroll Hub. It covers topics such as how to manage your employees' information, and process your taxes and forms, to name a few.
