I get a warning msg that is dead stuck in the middle of my screen.
I just downloaded QB Ver 2017 Desktop pro
It says " Warning"
QB found some problems with your data file.
you can fix most issues rebuilding your company profile.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hello, brooksironworks.
I'd like to chime in and add some steps and details to help you fix the stuck message box.
Are you still able to use QuickBooks Desktop and navigate through the menus with the stuck message box? In this case, we'll want to follow what was suggested to fix the data damage.
If not, we can forcibly close QuickBooks from the Task Manager to remove the stuck message box. Here are the steps:
Open QuickBooks again, then do what triggered the message box in the first place. Do the Verify and Rebuild steps if needed.
If you're still getting the stuck message box, we can clean install QuickBooks Desktop. The steps are outlined here: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.
I would also like to add about the clean uninstall process. After uninstalling, navigate to the original install path for QuickBooks Desktop, then check the QuickBooks 2017 folder.
Make sure it's removed completely or empty. If these two particular files, NozHelp and UPSDynHelp, are present, delete them as well.
I should also note that we no longer support QuickBooks 2017, so patches are no longer being released. The steps may have little impact on the issue.
If you have an existing data, and want to verify your financials through reports, check out this article as a guide: Understand reports.
Drop by again if you have concerns about your entries or your data in QuickBooks. I'm here to help.
What steps lead up to the message appearing?
What happens if you Rebuild the file as suggested?
