- The VAT Registration number is the same in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and HMRC. You can confirm this by logging in to HMRC gateway.
- Ensure the same login credentials are being used for the connection setup through QBO.
- Ensure the VAT return dates are the same in QBO and HMRC.
- Confirm the user trying to submit, is the same user who enabled MTD.
- Check for any rejected/failed submissions.
- If you have submitted a return in the past 24 hours, this might not have updated on HMRC’s side, you may need to wait within 72 hours.
