Do you store company files on a server? Do you have the latest backup file? Copy the file to your local computer and try to restore it. Any error message?

QuickBooks Desktop Error (-6155, 0) occurs when a company file cannot open due to data corruption, network issues, or insufficient folder permissions. To gid rid of it, start by updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release to ensure you have the newest security updates and bug fixes. Next, run the QuickBooks Tool Hub to scan and repair any file errors.

Here's how to update QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Select Help at the top menu bar, then choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Choose Update Now at the top, then check the box next to Reset Update.
  3. Click Get Updates.

Restart your computer and check if error still appears. If the same thing happens, run the Quick Fix my File and QuickBooks File Doctor Tool utilities to repair your company file.

After that, check permissions and the read-only status to resolve any access issues or file locks:

  1. Right-click your company folder, select Properties, and then Security.
  2. Ensure your user account has Full Control.
  3. Right-click your .qbw file, select Properties, and make sure the Read-only checkbox is cleared.
