My PC was corrupted and since I have had it returned to me I cannot access my QB desktop and errors 6150, -1006 occur.  How do I fix these errors?

You can resolve QuickBooks Desktop Error (6150, -1006)by checking your computer for the CryptoWall virus or other malicious software that may prevent QuickBooks from opening.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Windows Start Menu.
  2. Type File Explorer into the search bar and open the application.
  3. Locate and open your QuickBooks folder, which is usually on your C: drive.
  4. Look for files that contain words like “decrypt” or “instructions” (.txt or .html) extensions.

If you don't find any such files, your computer is likely not infected. However, if you do find one, contact your antivirus provider for assistance in removing the malware. For more troubleshooting procedures, I recommend reading this article: How to fix Error 6150, -1006.
