You can reauthorise QuickBooks Online (QBO) connections to HMRC, as they require this every 18 months. This is usually one of the main reasons a VAT return won't go through.
Another one to check is the prohibited characters. QBO often rejects submissions if text fields or reference boxes contain special characters like #, *, or /, so it's best to stick to letters and numbers.
If the issue continues, you can open QBO in an Incognito/Private window or use another browser, as clearing your browser's cache can also help since stored data sometimes causes submission errors.
