New Shipping Manager

Does anyone know when the new shipping manager will be operational and available for download?

The old shipping manager no longer links to UPS. We are therefore waiting for the new shipping manager to become operational before we upgrade to V2024. But obviously that window is closing quickly as the May 31 force upgrade deadline approaches.

We are using Desktop Enterprise v2022.

We are in the process of updating our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Shipping Manager experience, which will be launching in the near future, Tim. I'll continue discussing this below.

We’re updating QBDT's shipping experience to provide enhanced security, greater convenience, and more choices for managing your shipments, all from within QBDT.

We're also upgrading it to a more user-friendly and secure shipping interface, incorporating OAuth (Open Authentication) to keep your credentials safe while granting limited access to other shipping carriers based on your approval. We aim to make this new experience available to you as soon as possible. Until then, you can continue using the current shipping features until May 31, 2025.

Here are some benefits of the updated feature:

  • Enhanced security
  • Seamless shipment tracking
  • Browse and compare rates
  • Expanded carrier options

If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2022 or older, you need to upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2024 to use the new shipping features.

If you have QuickBooks Desktop 2024, you need to update to the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop 2024.

You can download any shipping-related data before May 31, 2025. This includes the shipment date, customer contact details, tracking number, transaction reference, estimated shipping charges, the carrier service you've opted for, and cash on delivery (COD) details, if any.

After May 31, 2025, you won’t be able to access the listed information or use the existing shipping experience within QuickBooks Desktop. However, you can still perform shipping-related tasks, like voiding labels, directly on the carrier's official website.

Here’s how to download your shipping data:

  1. Go to File and select Shipping.
  2. Choose the carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS) for which you need shipment details.
  3. Click Track or Cancel a Shipment.
  4. Set the date range for the shipping data you want.
  5. Click Report, then Print.
  6. In the print preview, choose "Save as PDF and select a location on your computer to save the file.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Repeat these steps for each carrier and any additional date ranges to compile a complete record of your shipping history.

Once you’ve downloaded your shipping data for shipments made before May 31, 2025, set up the new Shipping Manager so you can continue shipping from within QuickBooks.

Moreover, If you're looking for guidance on setting up and managing your inventory to improve cash flow, increase efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and enable better decision-making, I recommend referring to the article: Set up Advanced Inventory in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have further questions about the new shipping manager in QBDT, feel free to click the reply button. I'm always here to help.

Will the old version of shipping be available in QB Desktop after 31-May?

Based on your response on about 6-May-2025, the New Shipping Manager for Desktop is not yet available.  You do realize that Intuit has not sent any notice about the delay even though they have insisted that we will no longer have access to the old shipping manager after 31-May?  Intuit has sent paper mail and notifications through email stating the old version will not be available after 31-May.

So, if it won't be available after 31-May, what do we do between that date and the date the new Shipping Manager for Desktop is released?

The old version of the shipping manager in QuickBooks Desktop will no longer be available after May 31, 2025, Agaus.

We are currently updating it to the new Shipping Manager experience. I understand the challenges caused by its availability, but our product development team is still actively working on making the new experience available soon to all users, ensuring a smooth transition.

You will see a nudge in the upper right corner when you open your QBDT company, which announces a new Shipping Manager coming soon. This transition is necessary to ensure continued seamless and efficient shipping operations for you.

For now, you can use this time to prepare your data and familiarize yourself with the new Shipping Manager. This preparation will help facilitate a smoother transition once the new system goes live. Refer to this article for details:  Get ready for a new shipping experience in QuickBooks Desktop.

Once you already have the new update and finish downloading it, learn how to set it up by following the steps outlined in this article: Get Started with the new Shipping Manager in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this period of change. If you have more questions or concerns about utilizing the shipping capabilities in QuickBooks, never hesitate to leave a reply below. We are committed to provide you with the best possible service.

We have been using the old ship manager for 24.0 and received this pop-up last week on 5/23 when trying to ship. I updated again today, 5/28, and now the pop-up no longer appears. I'm curious if the deadline has been extended. We did try out the "new" shipping manager, and would have to say it was a very terrible experience.

Right away (for FedEx and USPS) I've noticed there were no options to create multiple boxes per shipment, no reference fields to use for the carrier label (we typically insert PO numbers and SKU numbers), no option for 3rd party billing, and our stamps.com balance did not reflect (when shown "connected" in the settings) when trying to use USPS as a carrier. We also had issues connecting our UPS account to the new shipping manager, which we did not have the opportunity to experience, but I would assume it would yield the same outcome as with FedEx and USPS. I hope they work this all out before cutting us off from the old shipping manager.

May 29, 2025

We're you forced to enter a credit card when setting up the new ship station/engine?

We don't use USPS and are on terms with UPS/FEDEX and billed separately.

I don't want to put my Credit Card in for this garbage, but I can't proceed with the update without it!

May 29, 2025

I updated QBD. It's not showing the pop-up window RE: the new ship manager, etc.

I wonder if Intuit bailed on it.

Dang..... I actually had the new Ship Manager set up and working. Its clunky, but it was working. Then I logged out of QB and logged back in, and now it won't work.

I'm getting this response when I try to open it....

The new shipping manager will need to have admin full access to complete the setup process, TimL. I'll provide more details below about the error you've encountered.

Once you logged out and logged back into QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), your profile's access to that feature may have been revoked. That said, you'll need to reach out to your Primary Admin so they can restore your access to the Shipping Manager.

The requirement for a CC is questionable; I need to use my UPS account or my Customer UPS account to ship with, and multiple packages. The ShipEngine site says that the Free version, you cannot use your accounts only their account, However, for $75/month you can use your own account?

Does this new system require a $75/month just to use your own UPS/FedEx accounts? I do not care about USPS, we ship with yet another vendor outside of QB.

Are their other options for exporting the shipping info to a different app and export/import the tracking info on QBDT

We are on Enterprise 24; been with QBDT for about 20 years.

Looking at the new shipping manager supplier website, they seem to be in a change themselves; as being bought out by a new company before Qucikbooks is able to implement the system under the old name.

@ShyMae @ShangY @Jeff_S @Nicole_N
Can you please address some of these questions in this thread? Here are some:
1. Can it ship multiple packages?
2. Can we use our customers' accounts?

3. Can we use OUR negotiated rates and not ShipEngine's rates?

Please, please, PLEASE just either answer the questions or say you don't know. None of us here need additional links. None of us are getting any information through the QB help method.

I am 100% in the same boat.  I need all of the exact same questions answered.  I ship anywhere from 40-60 packages a day via UPS, using QB enterprise for the past 15 years, and it is basically useless right now.  This shipping issue has hindered my workflow so much right now, I am actively searching for QB alternatives.  I have 30 users on my account too, so I am paying a small fortune for software that doesn't work.  I was ASSURED by support that I would get a call back on Monday with a solution - still nothing.  Add that on to the dozens of unresolved, open trouble tickets I have had and still have from over the years.  This may be the last straw for me.

June 9, 2025

I tried this the other day and it is barely useable. I had to call tech support and after a typical 2 hour call with two different techs, I got no where. I finally got a call from someone who knew something about it and she told me that they dont get any instructions or information about something like this. They have to learn as they go. It should have never been released. I assume they put it out there just to get feedback, but I found nothing good about it. It is really made for USPS, not so much for fedex or ups. I'm sure they will get the kinks worked out but they have a long way to go. she also told me that most of the calls she is getting is for this shipping new shipping manager. at least for now we can still use the old one

June 10, 2025

The new Shipping Manager is useless-No one at Intuit knows what is going on, these are the issues

  1. Cannot hardcode package details and weight, which was available in old version and have to enter everything manually on every shipment, this is very time consuming
  2. If you are sending multiple packages to same location, a separate shipping label has to be done for each package, (again very time consuming for a company that ships the multiple packages of the same size and weight to customers) whereas in old version, you could stipulate how many packages you were shipping and the system would automatically create all the labels and on each label it would say label 1 of 3 etc. and if you searched on UPS it would show all three labels
  3. On old version your invoice number is reflected on the label, not in new version
  4. There are no reports that can be downloaded
  5. If you have different locations with different UPS account numbers, the system does not allow this, apparently this issue is a known problem, and they hope to have a fix by weekend!

Meanwhile, I have not shipped any product in over a week, customers are all complaining and no help from Intuit

June 10, 2025

Cann't ship.. you don't get the popup when you select shipping, it asks to use the new or continue (with the old)
I attached a screen print of the popup...
My point is it has not stopped me...

other work around for now is to use Stamps.com to create labels...

I'm with you this new version is completely unusable... but it should not be stopping you.

Hope this helps...

June 12, 2025

Today June 12 I received a message from QB saying they fixed an issue with the new shipping manager so UPS would work.   I tested it and its so stripped down that we can't tell if ShipEngine is adding a fee to use it.  I have my UPS account set up and for a 16x13x9 box @ 13 lbs to ship in my state it priced out at over $37 including insurance.  There was a $8.50 "fee" added.  No settings to look it up.  WTF is that?

I logged in our UPS account and we processed the same shipment and it was more that $10 less.  We can't be paying almost 40% more to use something that is marketing by Intuit as a benefit to Enterprise Subscriptions.  My guess its how QB got ShipEngine to work with them.  Commission.  At more that $7000 a year to use this broken down program that never gets fixes, this needs to be fixed.

I just discovered another shortcoming of the new Shipping Manager. I'm posting it here because this seems to be the only way that we can provide feedback to Intuit........

I'm currently on hold with UPS attempting to void a UPS shipping label that we created last night via the new Shipping Manager. The label didn't print properly. I didn't realize the error until this morning. Only the shipments that were created TODAY are eligible be reprinted or cancelled.

June 13, 2025

I was wrong in my earlier post about reprinting or cancelling a shipping label..... I just realized that the Ship Manager window was too small to display to display the right-most column of the page. Stretching the window caused that column to become visible.

Does anyone know of a more user-friendly forum for exchanging this information? all of the assistance I've received came from other users. It would be nice if we had the ability to communicate directly with each other about this issue. Does anyone know of a Facebook page or some other more open forum that would allow us to help each other?

December 29, 2025

It has been almost a year since they announced their "improved shipping manager". Intuit has failed properly address the all issues with the new shipping manager so it at minimum, has the the same features as the previous shipping manager.

What an embarrassment of an launch and implementation. Inuit management proves once again they are completely tone deaf.

TimLAuthor
December 29, 2025

I agree. Its ridiculously frustrating. They absolutely do not about their customers who rely upon the ability to ship product. The fact that they turned off the legacy UPS and FedEx shipping modules before the new Ship Manager was ready is inexcusable.

If anyone for Inuit is monitoring this forum and actually cares about us, here's a list of the missing functionalities:

1) We cannot create a return shipping label of call tag

2) Transit time estimates are not accurate

3) FedEx "One Rate" options are not available

4) We cannot create international shipments. We ship to Canada multiple times each day.

5) It does not allow us to activate a second UPS account's negotiated rates.

December 29, 2025

adding to @TimL list:

-ditto on inaccurate transit times.

-when multiple parcels are included in one shipment, it only provides and pastes 1 tracking # ...I have to manually enter tracking numbers from the printed shipping label onto the invoice. I need all tracking numbers for all parcels to be pasted onto the invoice.

-overall it is way less efficient to process a shipping label compared to the old system.

New Shipping Manager Sucks just like everyone is telling you Intuit!!!

My list includes some of the things already said and no I am not coping them, this is my list which others have same issue with!

1) Does not save customers, time consuming

2) Can not make a return label, have to go to the shippers web site and make it from there, time consuming again

3) If we put in a onetime ship from (to return something) you must save the address which changes your default address.

4) Can not make a label from anything other than an old invoice because we can invoice the customer without know the cost of the shipment 1st, plus we do not invoice without the tracking number on the invoice, also we do not invoice until the product has hit the carriers hands.

5) If we have more than one email address in our system for a customer we have to take time and delete all but one. Time consuming again

6) The phone number can not contain any thing other than numbers, again time consuming

7) Why did we have to put a credit card on file with USPS? We don't use USPS to ship products!

😎 We are not "purchasing labels" when we ship on our shipping accounts or our customers account. Piss poor wording there

9) It is slow to open again time consuming, takes about 28 seconds every time we make a label or need to get tracking or check to see when the label was made. Again time consuming

10) Transaction ID can not be changed and remember we make (purchase) a label from an old invoice.

11) We have 3 people that make labels in our company, we have zero clue who made that label, at least the old system, we couldn't see the other shipping, but do like everyone can see all the shipments (the only good thing)

12) Each page only has 5 shipments, so scrolling through the pages to find something is again time consuming a frustrating.

13) To print or save a label it opens a browser which then we need to close.

14) When we are shipping multiple shipments to one customer it only shows on tracking number. We then have to go to each label and copy then paste each one onto the sales order. Again VERY time consuming

I am very sure there are more things, but I have spent enough time complaining about this horrible new shipping manager. I REALLY hope someone that can fix most if not all these things reads this major complaint that it seems I am not the only one with complaints about your decision without asking the users 1st.
