I have been trying all ways but cannot get MiUi to accept my file format from QB desktop. I go through payroll center, file forms, E-File State SUI and then do the interview but none of it works. Michigan Unemployment website says “file invalid. Fatal error” when I upload the txt file that QB creates. Anyone know how to fix it?
Before submitting my W3 and W2s electronically, I had no errors. Now I am getting emails stating Your tax return SSA-W3-FILING for EIN *****1483 has been rejected by the IRS agency. I checked all the suggest attached to the reasons why and all are correct. Why would this be happening?
We need real time project overview so we choose the Hourly Costs for the employee expenses. However, even though we choose that, after running the payroll, we also see the Direct Labor in the overview. It is now making the report double in labor cost.
Very simple business, I invoice customers for services with monthly payments setup as NET60. Customers deposit via ACH transactions directly to my business bank account. My accounts are not linked to QB anymore as they were asking to relink multiple times a day. With this being said, I generate Invoices for the appropriate customer, due date & amount and enter them in the system. When the ACH transfer is made, I click "Receive Payment" and "Deposit To" as "Checking". However, on my bank register, it logs the item as an Invoice with a "-" amount and then logs it as a "+" deposit from accounts receivable. Resulting in a $0 bank balance. When I receive payment to "Undeposited Funds" it does the same thing. Reading all the forums, I have not found anything to fix this as all the "Solved" cases are for the desktop version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I wrote off an invoice for a customer as bad debt a couple years ago. They actually paid the invoice recently, so I need to figure out how to un-write-it-off without screwing up my past years. How do I do that?
I know this has been asked before, but of all the posts and responses I'm still either left with additional questions or the question itself isn't even answered. If a vendor offers a 2% early pay discount, can I just record that on a separate line when entering the invoice (assuming I'm paying within those terms)? And what account should should I set up to post these to (is it an income or expense)? Is it incorrect to just reduce the expense account by the discount amount? Ultimately, I'd like to handle this at the point I enter the invoice as creating a credit memo is an extra step and nuisance.
I bought an existing business. The old business was using quickbooks desktop and I am using quickbooks online. Is there a way I can merge all of the info from the old business to mine without replacing what I already have? Is there a third party software that can do this?

I am using QBO.My client has 3 PayPal foreign bank accounts listed in the Chart of Accounts (PP AUD, PP EUR, PP GBP). The Quickbooks balance on the chart of accounts screen shows 0.00 for each account. The Balance Sheet shows small amounts for each account. The transactions in those balances stem from 2017. I need to zero out all 3 accounts but am unsure as to how to do it. Thanks for your help!

Hi folks. Wonder if someone has any advice for a problem I'm having. Have an older version of QB 2008. Works perfectly fine for limited use I have with it so don't want to upgrade. Had to move the program to a new computer. Of course, when I started the program it wanted me to register it. I provided my License # and Product # but still says registration not successful which can be confirmed with the F2 feature. Says I have 30 days to use the product. I don't want to enter any new data into it until resolved so I need to do something quickly. I tried one of the suggestion from a little over a year ago here where you followed the links in tech support/help to "get phone number" option but that option is no longer available. Anyone know how to resolve this issue so I can move forward and start entering data into it again? Thank you.
Hello, We migrated from QB Desktop to QB Online at the end of February. There are errors in the historical paychecks, and I need to correct them. I have called support several times, and they tell me I need to subscribe to QB Bookkeeper for $49.00 per month. Then, I was told it would cost $10.00 to correct each check.I was also told to delete the historical checks and re-enter them in QB payroll, but then the payroll taxes would be paid a second time.
I am unable to add a reconcile icon/shortcut to the tool bar like I have been able with other menu items. I open Reconcile from the drop down menu. Then when I click view, I get a "ding" error. I have been able to add the icon in other company files. I have run the QB Tool Program Fix a couple of times. And it only seems to be for Reconcile.
I noticed while on the help line that my admin assistant was listed on the payroll service and he has been gone for 10 years. I need a PIN to change his information but no one seems to know what that PIN is? Can I change it?
QB Online keeps changing an entry and I need to correct it every time, how do I prevent the system from automatically making changes?
Work smarter with QuickBooks Online. We listened to your feedback and made improvements you'll love. Check out these short videos to see what's new and how to make the most of every feature. Review Signals in the QBO Bank Feed. You will now see color-coded icons alongside each Category and From/To recommendation in your Bank Feed. The goal is to show you the strength of the data backing each category/payee at a glance — so you can move quickly through transactions that follow a consistent pattern from categorization history and know exactly which ones are worth a closer look before posting. Here is a demo of how the feature works and what the different Review Signals mean: Automatically save invoices: Complete forms faster: Faster sales tax completion: Bank feed recommendations: Keyboard shortcuts:
Something seems to have changed on the Sales - Invoices screen within the last few months and it's not as efficient and convenient as it was prior to the change. I used to be able to load the Sales - Invoices screen and it would default to the last sort field and timeframe view that I had used previously (ie sorting ascending by Invoice Number, viewing all Unpaid Invoices for the last 12 months). Now every time I load this screen, it defaults to sorting by Date, only showing the last 3 months. Has anyone else had this issue? And do you know how I can see my preferred set of Invoices by default, in the order that I always want to see them. i.e. get the Sales - Invoices screen to load to the way that I had it sorted and filtered the last time I used it. If anyone from QuickBooks is monitoring this post, I have already submitted Feedback within the system on this feature, but I am not hopeful that my Feedback will make any difference. Thank you!
We have a non-profit client who receives hundreds of donations throughout the year. Our current process is to enter a sales receipt for every individual donation so we can run a Report by Donor at year-end. First, does anyone have a more efficient method of recording donations than doing each one screen by screen? I don't think QBO has any type of batch options. Next, the Sales Receipt form doesn't even fit on my screen. So much empty space between the fields and I'm tabbing and scrolling to populate only 7 or 8 fields. I'm looking for a way to customize this form to make it smaller or even remove the fields we don't use. Appreciate any insights and advice. I'm frustrated with how much time it takes to enter donations, when my efforts should be going towards more important things for the client.
Whether you've been using QuickBooks for years or you're still getting your footing, there's always a workflow worth refining. This month's roundup covers everything from automating customer payments to sending receipts after the fact. Let's get into it. 1. Where can I download an ACH form to pass to my customers to fill out? The great news is that there's no separate ACH form to hunt down and email. QuickBooks Online handles this directly through Autopay, which lets your customers authorize recurring payments electronically right from their invoice. Here's how it works: once you have a recurring invoice set up with QuickBooks Payments enabled, your customer will see an option to Set up autopay when they open that invoice. They'll sign in with their Intuit account (or create one), confirm the payment schedule, and authorize the automatic charges going forward. Their bank account or card details are entered securely at that point, which means no pape

I want to connect my gmail account for exporting and sending statements and invoices. I've lost my mail.app connection and don't want to use it because of all the spam it gets. How can I set up my gmail account to work with QB desktop? Thank you.
