I want to start by saying how much I HATE Quickbooks Online. It's supposed to the most innovative but it is the worse piece of arse of an software. HERE ARE THINGS THAT DOES NOT WORK OR QB JUST LIKE TO MAKE PEOPLE SUFFER.- cannot delete multiple transactions in expenses. No, it does not work. Why can't I just go to expenses, click on the transactions I want to delete and delete them all. It does not allow me to. - Why can't I search for key words in the transactions and pull up all expenses relating to the title? Impossible.- Oh and the cheapest is $30 a month for an outdated piece of ish. The best software was from Godaddy Bookkeeping. Too bad they went out of business. Has anyone found anything similar?
My efile 10 digit pin is usually populated when filing my quarterly 941 forms but this time, it is not populated and I don't remember what the pin number is. Any idea why it is no longer populated and how can I find the pin?
I use the QuickBooks Time Hours by Team Member report when I am processing payroll. I can't see a way to do this in QuickBooks. Thank you.
I noticed QB self-employed was not categorizing my transactions or that many of them were missing from 2025 so I have stopped using it. However I paid for the entire year and need to access my information.

I have a situation where I purchased an airline ticket for $173 using a credit card. However, the transaction did not go through, and the amount was refunded back to my credit card. Now in QuickBooks and my bank account, I see two entries:1. A $173.99 expense for the purchase. Initial charge. 2. Later, I received a $173.99 refund labeled as “Credit Card Credit.” It should be "Expense" even it's a refund, right? When reviewing these transactions in QuickBooks, the only option for the refund is to “Categorize.” Once I categorize it, it shows as a“Credit Card Credit.” My understanding is that this should be treated as a refund and still considered part of expenses, but I’m unsure if I need to adjust anything. Could you confirm the correct way to handle and categorize this type of transaction to ensure accurate bookkeeping? I’ve attached screenshots of the transactions for reference.Thank you!

When I collapse an income account on the profit and loss, the total changes from a positive number to a negative number. This did not used to happen. Anyone know what's going on?
What are QBO customer service hours to talk to someone over the phone and so screen share? Are they available on the weekends? I need to go over some things and its hard for me to do that when working during the day because of people coming in and out of my office.Thank you.
I have a backup set to run but they never do and when I check the settings I noticed it says not scheduled. I am running Enterprise v17 R5_102 on Windows 10. Any ideas how to fix this?
Started on August 1; worked fine before this. Now second month in a row.
Hi folks, I'm helping a friend's e-commerce store with their bookkeeping. Ever since QBO forced the new connector early this year, it's been a nightmare. It’s either syncing ex-VAT (messing up UK taxes), dropping SKUs, or dumping Shopify Payments and PayPal into the same wrong account.I see reviews of people spending hours manually fixing line items. My question is: How are you currently handling this? Are you just paying for expensive apps like A2X/Synder now?Or did you hire a VA (Virtual Assistant) to manually fix the tax codes and bank mappings every week?Has anyone found a lightweight, cheaper workaround just to fix the payment mapping or VAT issue?

Hi everyone, I’m working on cleaning up a QuickBooks Online file and ran into two issues I’m hoping someone has a more efficient approach for. 1. Recreating voided invoices I need to recreate a large number of previously voided summary invoices (monthly “Per Zingfit / Per MarianaTek” invoices with multiple revenue and manual tax lines). I’m rebuilding them based on the audit history, but doing this one by one is taking a long time. Does anyone have a faster workflow for this? For example: - Better use of templates or recurring transactions - Any bulk import tricks that actually work - Or any other shortcuts to speed this up 2. Sales tax posted to a custom liability account The original setup used manual line items on invoices posting to a liability account called “Texas Comptroller Payable” instead of using QBO’s sales tax center. I’m having trouble recreating this cleanly since QBO doesn’t normally allow liability accounts on invoice line items. What’s the best way to handle this? - S
If I want to start paying myself and a helper through quickbooks, what category do I use? None of them seem to fit. I am new to this so all the help I can get would be greatly appreciated!
Posting only to try and get attention of QB developers. The mobile deposit option is a nightmare; my tiny bank in my tiny town works better ... and I am forced to *keep* an account at that tiny bank because I have two clients whose checks always result in the "oops, that check cannot be deposited" error on the mobile app. My account is approved to deposit checks. These are business checks, both with watermarks and perfectly clear writing, slightly longer than normal personal checks.I've spoken with support on multiple occasions and they have zero power or knowledge to fix the problem - it simply is the worse mobile deposit I've ever encountered and since it is the ONLY way to deposit checks into QB Bank / GreenDot it makes it even more annoying. To whomever manages this aspect of the mobile app: *****please get it fixed****** it cannot even hold a check if it's not sure what to do, and like many, I have clients who must pay with a check. It truly is absurd. The first time I co
I have been trying to restore my QBO system to a date about 10 days ago from both the QBO Backup and Restore app's auto backups and a manual full backup. Each time I do the restore I end up with more garbage inserted in the system. For example, when I began, I showed a correct credit card debt of $238.00. At the end of one restore point, I showed that the credit card company owed me $22,493.34. Each time I tried to correct this by restoring to a different moment in time, it got worse. All of the restore points were in the last 10 days. After six tries, according to my QBO records, I now owe the credit card company $47,230.35 and have an "uncategorized asset" totaling $90,666.32.I also have records in the system that are well dated beyond the date and time I was attempting to get back to indicating. For example, I did a "restore" back to a full manual backup on Feb. 18, 2023, and, after completion, I still had records in the system dated Feb. 26, 27 and 28, 2023.Has anyone successfully re
I am running QB 2019 Pro.Whenever I invoice a specific customer, the 'Choose Billable Time and Costs' screen shows up with no enties and expenses = $0, mileage = $0, items = $0. It does show Expenses(1) = 0.How can I eliminate always seeing this screen when invoicing this customer? This started happening a couple years ago, when I was reimbursed for an expense for this customer. This does not show when I create the invoice, which is good but would like to get rid of this annoying screen having to click OK whenever I invoice this customer. Thanks for any help.
I have tried multiple times, tried restarting the app and checking for updates, and I tried offloading the app, but nothing is working.
Two different companies, two different Bank of America credit cards. In company #1, I have tried disabling and then re-enabling the BofA bank feed thing repeatedly, and it continues to say "LAST UPDATE: 3 months ago" and refuses to download any credit card transactions -- last transactions that I was able to download are from 02/19/26. When I was able to download transactions previously, it downloaded random transactions but not all of them. In company #2, I have been able to download the BofA credit card transactions, no problem. Both bank feeds are set up similarly (express mode, turn on bank feeds log files, etc.). This has been going on in both my old QB version and the new Enterprise one I upgraded to yesterday. I give up. Is this a BofA issue or a QB issue?? Help?!!
I can't believe finding an answer to this is so hard. Support is useless and no one knows what a CSV file is or what an import is or why someone would want to import from Excel into QBO... it's frustrating. I want to import checks that are actually ACH transactions related to some of our work. Each check can have multiple Categories (Expense accounts) and multiple Classes and Customers. So, one check is multiple lines of information. I cannot figure out how to actually get this to import. The documentation is nonexistent. There is a sample CSV file -- and a sample Excel file -- but the samples don't really explain a lot. From what I can find, this is what the Excel file format should be... But QBO has various problems with each of the permutations I try of this format. The objective is to get ONE check recorded with Check #ACH, with ONE Payee, that does NOT have to be Printed. And that ONE check will have three differ

So, you're thinking about taking the leap into entrepreneurship? Before you sprint toward launch day, let's talk about the somewhat unglamorous (but very essential) groundwork that actually keeps a new company afloat. Many new founders get caught up in the excitement and overlook the tactical planning needed to handle the inevitable bumps in the road.
