Daily Receiving Report

I have a daily receiving report that I have been using for a few years now, and after the last 2 updates the information does not pull from the custom date range, MTD date range, week date range completely any longer.

It will pull sporadic dates date when I filter for the month. Even at times when I try to pull the data for the previous day it will not show any data even though we have received PO's in QB.

I have modified and tried various date parameters and have had no success.

Does anyone have an idea how to correct it or even create a new report? (I would need the steps as the previous person who created the report is not with the company any longer). The report I am using is

Purchases by Vendor Detail (it wouldn't let me upload more than 1 image). We have had receiving done on all days from 9/1/ thru 9/18/2025

It is clear that you've put a significant amount of effort into trying to resolve this on your own especially when dealing with reporting gaps over a specific date range and accurate and timely reporting. Issues like this often stem from either compatibility problems introduced with the update and failure to advance to the next release version or corruption in the report templates, Rob680.

First, you'll have to make sure to update QuickBooks to the latest release so you have the latest features and product improvements preventing issues that may occur. Once done, you can use the Verify and Rebuild tool to identify and fix data integrity issues with your company file.

To verify your company data:

  1. Go to the Window menu and select Close All.
  2. Navigate to File, then Utilities and select Verify Data to check your company file for potential issues.
  3. Review the results of the data verification:
    1. QuickBooks detected no problems with your data—your data is clean, and you don’t need to do anything else.
    2. An error message appears: Look up the error on the QuickBooks Desktop support site for step-by-step instructions to resolve it.
    3. Your data has lost integrity: This means data damage was detected in your file. Use the Rebuild Data tool to repair the damage.

To rebuild the data:

  1. Go to File, Utilities, and then select Rebuild Data.
  2. Back up your company file. Select OK to proceed. A backup is required before you can rebuild.
  3. Choose where you want to save your backup, then OK. Ensure you don't overwrite an existing backup file. Enter a unique name in File name and select Save.
  4. Select OK when you get the message Rebuild has completed.
  5. Go to File, select Utilities then select Verify Data again to check for additional damage.
    1. If the verify finds more damage, you’ll need to fix it manually. Look up the error(s) in the qbwin.log on the QuickBooks Desktop support site for instructions to fix it.
    2. If your error can't be found, you can restore a recent backup. Go to File then select Open or Restore Company.
Note: Don’t overwrite your existing company file. You’ll need to enter info into your company file again since the backup was created.

However, if the issue continues, I recommend using the QuickBooks Tools Hub which provides quick and easy access to essential repair tools designed to resolve common issues. To guide you, I've added this helpful article: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

By following the options above, you an effectively fix issues that interrupt your workflow, keeping QuickBooks Desktop running smoothly and efficiently. Let me know if further assistance is required while working with your QuickBooks reports. I'm always around to help you anytime.
