Web app and iPhone app using different logic
Since 27th March 2026, when we were switched to the new layout, The iPhone app has started to include the customers Company Name twice on the invoice.
Eg, an invoice will look like this:
PestControl.co.uk (Franchising) Ltd
PestControl.co.uk (Franchising) Ltd
119 Leathwaite Road
London
SW11 6RW
This only happens where Title, First Name and Last Name are blank.
In these circumstances, the app has been programmed to include Display Name, then Company Name in the invoice. As the display name is almost always the same as the company name, you end up with company name appearing twice.
The web app correctly doesn’t work this way. The web app NEVER includes Display Name on an invoice, so invoices correctly show company name just once on the invoice.
I have been working with Support to get the issue resolved, however the engineering team say that the iPhone App is working as expected and won’t be changed.
Engineering accept the iPhone App is working differently to the web app, and that the company name appears twice on each invoice, but refuse to change the way it works.
In addition, different logic is being used in the iphone app when you create a new customer from within a new invoice. If you go to customers and add new customer, the iPhone app correctly offers you the ability to enter all the usual customer fields, eg display name, title, first name, last name, company name etc.
But, if you create a new customer from within a new invoice, the iPhone app only allows you to enter “customer name” (which isn’t then puts into Display Name when you save) as per attached screenshots.
I have submitted a complaint using this link, but wanted to share this issue with the forum.
