Is Quickbooks Pro 2019 able to run on Windows 11

Good morning, @IPMTCH21

Thanks for reaching out to the Community for support and sharing your concerns.

Our QuickBooks Pro 2019 version is compatible with Windows Server 2011. It sounds like you might be inputting the incorrect product number for your version of QuickBooks. That said, I wanted to ask if you had the 2019 version installed on a different computer before this installation?

If so, you'll want to ensure you're using the same license and product numbers that are listed for the last installation. You can locate the license and product number by opening QuickBooks and hitting the F2 key at the top of your keyboard. The numbers will be listed in the upper left corner of the pop-up screen.

Each time you upgrade QuickBooks (2018, 2019, 2020) the product number will change for each new release. Whereas, the license number will remain the same.

However, if you're using the same product number as you did in your last 2019 installation, I recommend we go through a few troubleshooting steps I've included below.

Let's run the QuickBooks install Diagnostic tool. This tool is designed to scan and resolve common installation issues.

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub, then select Installation Issues.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  3. When the tool finishes, restart your computer and start QuickBooks Desktop, then open your data file and try to activate.

If you continue to have issues installing, you can go through the steps included in our troubleshooting help article: Fix activation, license and product number errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please know that if you don't feel comfortable going through all of the steps listed in the help article, you can always contact our Technical Support Team. This way, an agent can screenshare with you and install QuickBooks for you.

For a list of all of our system requirements, check out System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2019.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!

Try installing it in compatibility mode Win 10.

Is Quickbooks Pro 2019 able to run on Windows 11

I have same question. Your answer has two problems:

a) There has never been a product called Windows Server 2011 from Microsoft, so not sure what you are talking about. There was a Windows Home Server 2011 which is totally different from Windows 11.

b) QuickBooks Desktop 2019 Pro is actually a legitimate product. I am pasting a picture below from Help About.

So, please answer the question: Is QuickBooks Desktop 2019 Pro compatible with Windows 11? Note that Windows 11 is an upgrade of Windows 10 which Microsoft is slowly rolling out. I already have QB Desktop 2019 Pro installed on my laptop. If I upgrade to Windows 11, will it keep working?

@arungupta

I dare not upgrade to Win 11 until Q2/2022 at the earliest. QBD 2019-2022 doesn't yet support Win 11. Try installing and running your QBD 2019 in compatibility mode Win 10/Win 8 .

I upgraded to Windows 11 and QB works, at least I was able to launch the program, open the company file and do a backup of the company file. I do not use QB for any heavy duty work, just create weekly timesheet and keep track of payment from one customer. YMMV.

Thanks,

Arun

I suspect it could be that when validating the license# QB installer is also returning to intuit servers an operating system ID that the license is not associated to.

For others with it already installed and are upgrading to Windows 11 -- in theory the program should work for the most part BUT if you do any tasks that require you to open a browser within quickbooks 2019 it likely will not work because Windows11 finally killed off Internet Explorer.  While you don't see IE11 on your desktop, it was still there behind the scenes for programs that needed its engine in order to run embedded browsers like what is done in quickbooks.  For people that use merchant services or maybe bank feeds, this may be the deal breaker for you and you must upgrade.

Support for QB2019 ends in May 2022 so it has a lot going against it right now

I got a new computer and installed Windows Desktop Pro 2019 on my Windows 11 New Computer and get the following error.

Error 6150-1006

We're Sorry, but Quickbooks can't open your company file and the file isn't repairable.

Fortunately it still opens on my old computer.

Is there a  fix for this?

I'll walk you through the process to get this resolved so you can get back to business, joemac07928.

The errors (6150 and 1006) suggest a data integrity issue. Usually, this can be caused by internal or external factors. To fix this, install QuickBooks Tool Hub version 1.6.0.3 and run the File Doctor utility.

When encountering unhandled exceptions, click Continue to ignore them and proceed with diagnosing data problems. Here's how to use it:

  1. Go to Company File Issues.
  2. Select Run QuickBooksFile Doctor
  3. Click your company file from the drop-down menu.
  4. Choose Check your file, then tap Continue.
  5. Enter your admin password and click Next.

After that, open your company file again.

For more troubleshooting procedures, I recommend reading this article: How to fix Error 6150, -1006. Finally, here are some resources that you can browse through to know what to do if you can't restore or locate your company data and backups:

Additionally, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2019 isn't compatible with Windows 11. Here are the currently supported operating systems for running QBDT 2019:

  • Windows 7 SP1, 8.1 Update 1, or Windows 10 update/version supported by Microsoft
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or SP2, 2012 R2, or 2016
  • 2.4 GHz processor
  • 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
  • 2.5 GB disk space recommended (additional space required for data files)
  • 4x DVD-ROM drive (unless the user is downloading from the Intuit server)
  • Payroll and online features require Internet access (1 Mbps recommended speed)
  • Product registration required
  • Optimized for 1280x1024 screen resolution or higher, supports one Workstation Monitor plus up to 2 extended monitors, and is optimized for Default DPI settings.

To learn more about the compatibility, you can read this article: QuickBooks Desktop Microsoft Windows 11 Compatibility.

Open your company file on your old machine. Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility. Is there any error message?

Create a backup file and restore it on your new machine. Did you encounter the same error message?

Open your company file and hit CTRL + 1 keys. How big is your file size?

You can download the installer through our website, Benny. Let me walk you through the process.

Before proceeding with the download, ensure that you have a stable internet connection and that your web browser is up to date. You can go to this link to get the installer: https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products. Then, fill in the necessary details.

You can check this article about locating your license and product number: Find QuickBooks Desktop license info.

Additionally, you can now activate your QuickBooks Desktop after installing.

Thank you!  Such a simple and obvious solution.  Quickbooks directs to download and run Tool Hub which doesn't work.

We are running Quickbooks 2019 Pro on our network.

Had to upgrade 2 computers so far to Windows 11.

QB seems to work OK but we've lost the ability to send forms via Outlook and the tracking that goes with it.

Is there a way to fix this?

Is Quickbooks Pro 2019 able to run on Windows 11

You can no longer send forms via email using QuickBooks Desktop 2019, as this version has been discontinued, JWinter95.

Once a version is discontinued, some important functions may start to work less effectively over time. Aside from that, consider upgrading to a newer version of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise or QuickBooks Online, as they offer enhanced features, improved performance, and better security.

For more details on the discontinuation, please refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop 2022 service discontinuation policy.

Hi - I am trying to use quickbooks pro 2019 desktop version on my new computer.  It won't even let me install the backup.  it wants to register it but when I click on register it goes to a screen where all I see is dots going in a circle and it won't even go to the quick books page.  I verified the registration code etc (its on the original booklet for the disc.

All I am trying to do is use the program on a new computer as my old one is quickly dyeing.

I hear you. Registering QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), but keeps loading, even having a code is challenging, @67 Barracuda. I understand that this has caused your backup installation to transfer to your new computer being delayed.

Since it only shows dots in a circle that keeps going on,  there are several factors affecting this. You can see them below:

  • Slow internet connection
  • Your company name may be too long
  • You may have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file
  • You may have corruption on your hard drive
  • The program files or the QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system

No worries, since there are solutions that can fix these issues: just ensure that you have a stable and strong internet connection.

First off, let's run a quick fix on my program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub using it on Windows 10, 64-bit. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks. I recommend downloading the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Then, save the file somewhere you can locate easily (like in your Downloads folder or on your Windows desktop). If you've already installed Tool Hub before,  pick the Home tab to find out which version you have. It is shown on the lower right, or you can select About to view.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Once the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  5. From the Tool Hub, choose Program Problems.
  6. Run the Quick Fix my Program.
  7. Then, start QBDT and open your file.

For detailed steps of other solutions, you can visit this article: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

It also worth nothing that this version is now discontinued. There are several services and function you won't be able to access, and might encounter some errors while using the program. Check out this article for more information: QuickBooks Desktop 2023 service discontinuation policy.

Do not hesitate to return here if you have additional questions about backing up your QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 data and opening it on your new computer by leaving a comment below.

@67 Barracuda

It's possible that the Intuit server is blocking your reactivation attempt for some reason. You should try activating with a different license. Contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA directly via email and they can share a new license for 2019 to try. You can get it for free (T&C apply),
