Quickbooks 404 page not found

Hello there, @jessicab1.

Glad you've reached out to us here in the Community. It's my pleasure to help you today.

To give you the right amount of information and solution to fix the error you have while working with QuickBooks, may I ask what specific area you're working in while getting the error?

In the meantime, you can try using the basic troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. First, open your account using a private browser, you may use the following shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If it works fine using the private browser, open your account using the original browser and clear the browser's cache. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

Keep me posted with the result. Have a good one!

The error 404 means that the web page you're trying to reach could not be found on the server. Let's run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem. We can start with checking if your computer is connected to internet, and accessing QuickBooks Online in a private browser. This usually resolves any browser-related issues.

Here's how to open a private browser:

  •     Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  •     Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  •     Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  •     Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once logged in, please click on the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings. In the Payments section, click on Learn More. You'll be routed to the sign up page for our QuickBooks Payments

I cannot open Payroll either.

I have tried the "payroll" button in Quickbooks for Mac desktop;

I have tried opening in Firefox;

I have tried opening in a private browser in Firefox;

I have tried clearing cache in Firefox;

I have tried using Google Chrome.

Here is the error I receive in Firefox:

404 Not Found

  • Code: NoSuchBucket
  • Message: The specified bucket does not exist
  • BucketName: www.macpayroll.com
  • RequestId: 05AE8D2378CFAD3A
  • HostId: vy/47De3IaEtidX6BOwn7Rdzse9oGpvureJbqJ/f16AlD5i0EtuSAHTWrZYXmLmGSFr47d0AJ5E=

Chrome states that there is an issue with DNS, stating that the server's IP address could not be found.

This has happened a number of times in the last few weeks.

Hi there.

So has this been fixed yet? I work for an accounting firm and have not been able to access my clients books for over a month? Our clients are getting very upset that we haven't been able to bring their books to current. Why do the responses on this Q&A seem to not express that this is a more urgent matter to Intuit? Please, Please, Pleeeeaaaase help!

Welcome to this thread, info287.

The error 404 occurs when you're trying to reach a web page you're trying to reach but could not be found on the server. To fix this, let's run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate this issue.

Let's begin by accessing QuickBooks Online in a private browser. Since this type of browser doesn't store cache, it's easier for us to identify if this is a browser issue.

 Follow these keyboard shortcuts to start an incognito session:

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

If it works, you may want to clear the browsing history of your regular web browser. This will remove previously stored browsing data that might have caused the issue. Otherwise, you can try using other supported browsers to be thorough.

Additionally, we have easy-to-access articles, webinars, and video tutorials that will help you in familiarizing the different tasks, features, and functions of QBO. Below are the following:

As always, you can visit us again if you need help while working with QuickBooks. It will be my pleasure. Stay safe and have a great day ahead!

I am a student taking the QBO course and I am getting an error code when I try to log into the Payroll with the sample company. I have already tried logging in on a private browser and it did not fix the problem.

Hello - I've spent a lot of my time on the 404 Error in Quickbooks Online Plus.  I started seeing the error when searching for and selecting reports.  I use Google Chrome on two different Windows 10 Pro machines.  QBO is a great product, but it has many, many glitches.  This is a new one and I'm simply working around it by developing a favorites menu.  Please don't walk my down the cut/paste instructions, or ask me to call the customer care team - I've already spent too much time.  Please have your engineering team fix the isssue.

All the best, Jeff
