Assign or change user roles in QuickBooks Payments.
Learn how to set different types of user roles for your QuickBooks Payments account.
There are 4 levels of access you can give your users. You can change these at any time:
User role | With access | No access |
Full Admin | All pages and features | Not applicable (N/A) |
Limited Admin | All users except Full Admin | Account Profile page |
Full User | Payments, reports, and statements | Account management pages such as Users and Account Profile |
No Access | No access to all pages and features | All pages and features |
Assign or change a user’s role
- These steps only apply to QuickBooks Payments users.
- You can’t change user roles for other Intuit services using these steps.
- You can't delete users with access to other Intuit service(s) once you add them to your merchant service account. You can only restrict their access.
- You can only update user roles when you use an external web browser.
- Sign in to QuickBooks Payments. Make sure you have full admin access.
- From the Account ▼ dropdown, select Users.
Note: If you want to update user roles for Mobile Payments, select Mobile Payments Users from the QuickLinks section. - Find the user you want to update the role for. Then in the Role column, select their current role.
Note: If the user doesn’t have a role yet, select Click to assign. If you don’t see the user, you can add them. - Select the role you want to assign to the user.
Notes: You can’t change your role while you’re signed in.
Delete a user
- Find the user you want to delete.
Note: You can’t delete a user if their email address is linked to other Intuit service(s). You can only restrict them:- In the Role column, select their current role then select No Access.
- Select X next to their current role, read the prompt then select the checkbox.
- Select OK, delete this user.
