Hello,
I noticed in the past few weeks that the functionality of the audit log has changed. I used to be able to filter by vendor name, transaction date, and amount. Now, those fields are missing, which is quite problematic as my company wants to monitor activity by date and the audit log doesn't allow for an Excel export. Any ideas about how to restore this functionality or any information as why this change was made are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hello there, @zfurman-greenlig.
There haven't been any reported issues with users having trouble viewing the Audit log in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To isolate the issue, let's try navigating your QBO account using a private browser to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue.
You can refer to these shortcut keys to open a private browser:
Once done, view the Audit log again. Check to see if everything is working fine now. If it works, go back to your default browser and clear cache. See Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online for more information.
Otherwise, switch to a different browser like Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. The one you are currently on may be having a temporary issue with QuickBooks, and using a new browser for the moment will allow you to get back to work.
To know more about using the Audit log Feature, see this article: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, here are some resources about the different reports in QBO and how you can customize them:
Please keep me posted on how it goes. If you have other concerns about QBO, let me know in the comments below. I'll gladly help.
Welcome back to the thread, zfurman-greenlig. I'll be sharing details on how the Audit Log feature works in the current setup.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) has updated the software. The Audit Log feature or section was changed to view only the User, Date changed, Events drop-down. Also, there's a small gear icon to allow what details will be included on the page. QuickBooks is continuously improving the product's features to meet our customer's needs. That said, an option to restore the previous functionality isn't possible. This is because the changes have been made to help you easily track the history.
Furthermore, I suggest clicking the drop-down arrow of the Date changed to see all the activity by date. However, exporting the audit log details is currently unavailable. For now, you can only print the information by clicking the print icon beside the small gear icon.
You may also refer to this article to view detailed steps on how you can run different reports in QuickBooks to see all entries being entered in the system: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
You're always welcome to get back to me if you need further assistance managing the Audit log. I’ll be more than happy to work with you again. Have a good one!
Hello,
This is unfortunate as the previous report function allowed me to see transaction dates, vendors, and amounts. The report as currently constructed does not provide enough relevant fields to really be useful in any capacity. If you know of any workaround, that would be appreciated. It's just quite frustrating that this clear downgrade was implemented in which value was actually removed from the product.
Thanks.
