Question

screen freezing in Quickbooks

The screen on my iPhone freezes when trying to reconcile payments on the transaction screen. Have to restart the app to get back. Seems to work otherwise.

There’s a few things that can cause the app to freeze. Such as, corrupted local data cache, a network hiccup, or an outdated app build. 

 

Let’s try a few troubleshooting steps to get things running smoothly again. 

 

First, I would like for you to refresh the QuickBooks app data. Here’s how:

 

  1. Inside the QuickBooks app, open the Menu (☰).
  2. Tap Help & Feedback.
  3. Select Refresh Data, then confirm by tapping Refresh

 

If you’re still experiencing issues, let’s check the app for updates. Reconciliation tasks handle highly complex data feeds, which require the app to be fully up-to-date.

 

To do this:

 

  1. Open the App Store, look up QuickBooks Online, and download any pending version updates. 
  2. Go to iPhone Settings>General>Software Update to confirm your iOS is up-to-date.

To resolve the freezing on your transaction screen, fully uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks app. This will clear deeper cached data that a standard refresh cannot reach.

 

Here's how remove and reinstall the app:

 

  1. Press and hold the QuickBooks app icon on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Remove App, then select Delete App.
  3. Go to the App Store, search for QuickBooks Online, and download a fresh copy.

 

If the issue continues after a fresh install, I recommend contacting our Intuit Expert team so they can take a closer look at your account.

 

In the meantime, you can temporarily access your QuickBooks Online account in your mobile browser. This will allow you complete your reconciliations without interruption and keep your workflow moving.
