Probable in the wrong place, but here goes. We decided to add the first part of the customers postcode, or their webshop customer IDs to their details in the customers display name section. Without going though every customer in the list I was going to export a customers list from Quickbooks as a CSV. It would them be easy to update the relevant section in the customers details and then upload the adjusted file back in to Quickbooks. I have found out that the table that can be exported in not the same as the one that needs to be imported and some details are missing when importing, the main one being the Customers Display name. My question is wh\t would be the easiest way to update the customers with the missing additional postcode part in their details if exporting and inporting is not possible.
• I have verified that all sales invoices: o Are posted to the correct income account. o Are fully paid within the date range. o Have the same transaction type. o Are active and included in the reporting period.
I am currently looking at a start-up that plans on supplying accounting/bookkeeping services to churches/small charities. We wish to automate as much as possible of the process, but I wanted to know how good Quickbooks would be for such a company, and how much automation would be possible/how much non-automated processes would need to be done? Please feel free to ask questions.

When running a Statement in Quick Books don’t expect it to be the balance owed by the Customer as at the date (e.g. 31st Mar’25) you put in for your Statement. If you put in a statement date of 31st Mar'25 you expect to see the invoices and credit notes outstanding as at that date. Not with Quick Books, if you allocate a payment to a March invoice say on the 5th April, then this is what happens on the 3 types of statement you can run: Invoice does not show as 'Open' on the Open Items Statement unless you un-allocate the payment. In the balance brought forward statement the amount due will be different to the running balance total. In the running balance total it shows the invoice value but it then takes this invoice value off the amount due. On the transaction statement it shows the amount as being received.None of these statements are easy for a customer to follow and I the left justified column makes me embarrassed to send them out to customers. is Alternate row shading available in the Pro or Premiere version?
Previously the report that I customised had a filter applied that allowed me to pick a customer and generate a report specific to only that customer but now the drop down mentu does not show the list but just generic options of "all / specified / not specified". I have checked other reports and they all show the same thing. Has anything changed recently? How to revert back to what it was?
I would like a report with each net pay, total amount due to HMRC (inlcuding employer allowances deducted) and pension payments due.
We are a charity with differnt funding streams - is there a way to set up budgets for each different fund which will then feed into a main budget?
Can we run a report of invoice list with VAT inclusive or exclusive in a column, or how can we check quickly which invoice is VAT inclusive/exclusive without opening each invoice one by one.
Please can someone give me step by step instructions on how to record the purchase of a computer for business purposes in QBO? How do I create the asset account. How do I record the bank payment to the vendor. Does all the amount I pay get recorded as an expense becuase I want to depreciate the asset over 4 years. Thanks
It seems that the modern view has the fiscal dates as the default Financial Year dates. This is very frustrating as we have to change the date manually now and it leaves the possibility of running the wrong report if we forget the dates change. The classic view seems to have the correct setting but every time if we click on an item and click on back to report, it reverts to the modern view with the incorrect dates. This is unsatisfactory as we spend so much time now just selecting dates.I will be seeking alternative products for all my clients.
Hello I've attached the issue. It seems to get to the point in the modern reporting view where all the remaining classes just group into 'Other' and those figures that you can see in the 'Other' column can't even be clicked to open up any sort of transaction report. This isn't an issue in the classic view. In the classic view, it simply shows all the classes. Does anyone know how to fix this to show all the classes in modern view? Not an issue now but if classic view gets removed in the future then it will be. ThanksJack
I have noticed that when i go to submit my monthly CIS report that some of the sub-contractors totals are low (missing payments made) When I check suppliers account etc, its all there. Correct dates etc. I have tried logging in and out but not correcting itself. I had unsubmitted a file because of it.
Why does the modern view show the wrong dates when selecting 'Last Financial Year'?Our financial year runs from April to March and when we run it as a classic report it shows the correct dates. When we run the same report in Modern view it shows January to December. It's very odd.
We are having troubles raising the report. The system eventually times out. This is a problem that all staff trying to pull the report have problems with regardless of our location. We are having to pull different reports to get the data the this report provides and it proving time consuming.
The deposits are actually payments on account that have been later allocated against the invoices, so are distorting the summary figures. TIA
Is there a report that shows the last time a customer purchased from us, like a customer purchase history type report? Many thanksDebbie
