RegAsmIntuit.exe

There is an User Account Control popup on Profile start up saying file catled RegAsmIntuit.exe is from an Unknown Publisher and requires a yes or no to continue. How do you fix this issue? I never saw this message until recently.

Do you have an antivirus and if yes, which one?

Norton.

Spoke to Profile Tech today and reported the issue. They knew about it and are working  on a fix.

I think if you open Profile as Admin, the issue will dissapear, am I right?

and I suspect that the antivirus is blocking this command

Yes the problem stops if you open Profile as Administrator. Howeever now must select Yes to the UAC popup to open Profile every time you open the program.

I also installed the Profile on my laptop {win 10}.There are no issues there. Admin not required.

Note that both computer run Norton 360.

As I said before Profile is aware of the issue and are working to find a solution.

As I have Norton 360, How do you tell if Norton is blocking the files?

If Norton is blocking the files is there a way to have Norton stop blocking these files?

You could try to put an exception in norton, for the complete profile directory C:\Program Files (x86)\ProFile and see if this helps.

Norton can only exclude a file not a complete directory.

As I said earlier I have no issues on my laptop which also has Norton. No UAC pop ups.

I am running Profile as administrator. This is a work around fix.

Latest Profile update has not fixed the RegAsmIntuit.exe problem.

In my case, I have seen this issue on a workstation. It worked fine after I re-installed the C++ libraries of windows. However, when i tried it with a customer, it did not work.

I am using Windows 11.

you could try this

https://profile.intuit.ca/support/en-ca/help-article/update-products/regasmintuit-stopped-working-er...

However, if that does not resolve the issue, I am hoping that it will be fixed in a future version.  A possible workaround is to run profile as admin (if that works for you)

I am finding the same thing is happening with my Windows11 computer running Defender.  No problem on my Windows10.

Are there any negatives to running Profile as administrator?

I am also getting random "command" popups windows after installing Profile on my Windows 11 computer.  They disappear as quickly as they pop up.  Is this normal?

I run profile as administrator which requires a YES answer to the UAC screen. I have had no problems.

This is the only way I know to avoid the UAC screens re RegAsmintuit. Profile has not fixed this issue yet.

I don't beleive I have seen any  command popups yet.

I also put Profile on a Windows 10 laptop and there are no problems.

I also have it installed on a Windows 11 desktop which is where the issue is, not on Windows 10

This issue has now been fixed in version 2023.3.0.

You no longer need to run Profile as an administrator in Windows 11

Mine works as well.

Now if I could figure out how to stop these random command screen pop-ups. I'm pretty sure they're Intuit related from the path but I can't get it to stay on the screen long enough to get a snapshot of the path.  Mario would you happen to know why?

The random command screen pop-ups that you see are most likely related  to the autoupdate running in the background. If the computer is slow we can see them.

I turned off autoupdate in Profile and I no longer see the cmd popups.  Is there any reason this needs to be set to on or can I leave it off?

Autoupdate works in be background to make it faster when you update

Profile recently said that my Profile program did not have a licence attached to it. It did earlier. I added it again.

Why did this happen?
