You should be able to print the 3and 4-part perforated paper. Since you can only print the 4-part form, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team.
I understand that you already contacted them before, but they're the best support group to handle this concern. They can check your account securely why there isn't a printable format for your purchased form.
You can follow the steps shared by colleague above on how to reach them. To reach us on time, our Live Help is available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Saturdays.
Also, I'm adding these articles for more details on how to print W-2 forms and fix problem issues:
We are having the same issue in that the only available W2 to download from QBO is a 4-part form and we have all of the perforated papers and envelopes for a 3-part form. Can we request the W2's to be reformatted into a 3-part report?
You should be able to print your W-2 in Blank 3-part or 4-part perforated paper. To isolate the issue, let's ensure that you have an updated Adobe Reader version. Check it here for detailed steps on how to update it on the latest version: Install updates for Acrobat and Reader.
Then, let's set your W-2 print preferences:
Navigate to the Gear icon and choose Payroll Settings.
Click Preferences and select Form W-2 Printing Settings.
If the same thing happens, let's repair the installation of Adobe Reader. Let me walk you through the process:
Close all open apps on your computer and the Acrobat Reader.
Select the Start button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen and type Control Panel.
Press Enter on your keyboard.
Choose Programs and Features.
Click Acrobat or Adobe Reader, and then Uninstall/Change.
Tap Next in the Setup dialog box.
Pick Repair, Next, and then Install.
Hit Finish when the repair is complete.
Restart your computer.
When done, log in to your QBO account and print W-2 again. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Payroll support team. They use specific tools to pull up your account in a safe environment and can also do a screen share to check your set up. They can also provide steps for what you need to do so you can print your W-2 in a 3-part form paper.
Also, QBO has reports which can help you view your W-2 info to ensure it contains accurate data. To get started, please head to the Reports and info about W-2 and W-3 forms page.
Let me know how this goes and post here again for any concerns about printing your W2's in QBO. I'm just a post away and willing to help you in any way I can. Have a good one.
I tried to print a W-2 form for an employee and it told me my session had gone over 30 minutes. I had just gotten into that section. I went out and logged back in and that didn't help.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) has a time-out function for security. It prevents unauthorized users from accessing your data, especially when you’re away from your computer.
With this said, you can set your account's time-out preference on the Account and Settings page. You can keep your QBO account active for 3 hours. To set this, here's how:
Go to the Gear ⚙️ icon at the top.
Select Account and Settings.
In the left menu, click the Advanced tab.
On the Other preferences section, click on Edit ✎.
Choose 1, 2, or 3 hours from the Sign me out if inactive ▼ drop-down menu.

Is anyone having an issue with printing W2's on preprinted forms? If I get the alignment correct for the top one, then the bottom is off - it is too low. I had printed some on Friday, it they were fine, so I am not sure what the issue is today.

As mentioned by my colleague above, the stored cache in your browser is sometimes the reason that makes the program unresponsive. To get this issue sorted out, let's try printing using a private browser. Doing this will help us determine if the issue is browser-related.
Here are the different keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:
Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
Safari: press Command + Shift + N
If it works, you'll have to go back to your regular browser and then clear the cache to get rid of the junk files. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative.
If the issue persists, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools to work with you to find out what exactly may be causing this issue.
Here's how:
Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner.
Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
Look for I still need a human and click on it.
Click Get help from a human or Contact Support Team.
Select between Send a message, Schedule an appointment, or Get a callback.

I am having the same problem, went through every note and recommendation! I am struggling with paying QB prices (almost doubled) and I have been using quickbooks desktop since 1998. I can't print w-2's 4up on preprinted and it appears this is an ongoing issue. One would think that if it can't be corrected they could give a shout out to let you know before spending hours trying to correct it and the cost of ordering forms that can't be printed.

Yes, I am having just that. When I go to try and print my 2022 W-2, I get a dialogue box that tells me my employer has not yet filed her taxes, which is not true. She filed 10 months ago, but now I'm stuck in limbo until this is fixed.
I am trying to print a w2 for an inactive employee. He worked for us in 2023 but I can't seem to get him on the print list and I need to mail them to him as he has moved.
