Bank error 187 happens when your financial institution’s additional security requirements weren't entered correctly. This includes security questions or one-time passcodes.

If this happens, take the following steps to resolve the error:

1. Follow the onscreen steps to enter the correct info.
2. If you still see error 187,  go to your bank's website. Make sure your security questions and answers are correct.
