Join nowthis is absolutely not true, i just ran into this issue and your software has completely removed my access to company file without paying for your 1k + a year subscription cost. and even after renewing your software still wont give me access to my company file. on top of that your help support is garbage i had to log in my credentials over 10 times each time the process moved a step forward just to be told for me to give all my information again. and refused me service because i was unwilling to give my last name when being logged in your should have everything you need to know about me.
Which QB Desktop year version did you have? QB Desktop 2023 or else?
The issue is that you cannot even open your own file. Forget about wanting to use tools and services. At the moment, all I would like to do is access my own information and that is not possible. I get the warning that my subscription has expired and it brings me back to the same open file screen. When you try to open the file it says that the subscription has expired again and you are caught in a never ending loop.
The point here is that I have been a desktop pro user for several years and I would think that at the very least I should have access to my own information without having to pay more than 3 times what I was purchasing desktop for to have a year's subscription.
The other issue is that when I purchased 2022 pro I did not realize that I had purchased a product that expired! It was in the small print.
I am not one to get online and rant, but this is absolutely ridiculous! I wouldn't even have as much of an issue if I could convert to the online version, but as I have no access to any menus in my desktop version I can't even convert to online. I am guessing Intuit is going to lose a lot of customers over this and rightly so.

You simply need to open the online tool and upload your company file from there. You can use the trial version of QBD 2022 for good to access your data. Contact me in private for details.
Your advise will only work for those that have not already been locked out. Once you've been locked out, you can not access the Quickbooks desktop to perform the steps that you laid out.
I have the QB Desktop Pro 2022. I ended up having to contact Intuit through online text and we were finally able to resolve the issues. It took a while, but I am back up and running. Thanks for asking.
What was the resolution?

Locked out. Had to give in to online.

You can use the trial version to access your data for good as mentioned by Fiat Lux - ASIA.
This was somewhat helpful. However, if I retire, and no longer need an active program I does not make sense that I can not access a Desktop program in at least a read only version. Bookkeepers and accountants are generally required to keep records for 7 years. It appears you will wipe out our ability to access old records when a subscription has expired in six months. Does this mean I have to go back and print out hard copies of everything I have done? I would also have no ability to upload past records to an accountant if there was an IRS audit?
I wanted to have a Desktop version that I owned. I understand that some features can not be supported for ever, but access to information is crucial for longer than 6 months.
I am so very very disappointed in Quickbooks. Going to online and expecting Quickbooks clouds to be forever secure is quite an ask. My own little computer is much easier to secure than these big cloud centers. I am only dependent on a local electric source.
That is the rant, how do suggest we handle getting information that is 6 years old for IRS audits?
I hear you, @Lorraine MN. Let me walk you through exporting your data in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) so you can have a copy of your financial records.
When your QBDT subscription expires, the view-only access remains for one year. However, this option is available in QBDT for Windows 2023 R3 and newer.
To keep your accounting data, you don't need to go back and print out everything since you can export your information before your subscription expires. This way, you can use the data to send to your accountant for IRS audits. Here's how:
I'll also share these articles for your guide:
Furthermore, you can manage your QBDT account and subscriptions with the Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs).
Stay in touch if you have additional queries about your QBDT subscription, and we'll get back to you right away to assist you. Take care, and have a good one.
how do suggest we handle getting information that is 6 years old for IRS audits?
You can use the trial version of QB Desktop Enterprise to access your historical data for good.
I logged into my CAMPS site, but they only gave me the options of Quick books on line or Quickbooks Desk top Enterprise. I did not give me a link to Quick books 2024 Pro Desk Top.
Also I have receive messages inside Quickbooks that there is a discount in price available however the prices I see are the same offered by Best Buy or any where else I look on line.
I am understanding the changes you have made in going to subscription services, however, I am unhappy with the year over year resubscribing and your price point.
I appreciate you coming back and clarifying your concern, Lorraine. This isn't the kind of feeling that I wish you to have regarding how a QuickBooks subscription works and the associated price. I'll ensure you can still manage your data efficiently.
Please know that the link for downloading a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 is currently unavailable. This is only accessible in the QuickBooks Enterprise trial install file.
As mentioned above, once your QBDT subscription expires, you will have view-only access for one year. You won't be able to change your data while your license is inactive, but you can export them so you have hard copies of everything. I recommend performing this and following the steps outlined by my colleague to make sure that you have company details to present for IRS audits.
On the other hand, the promotion price is subject to change and we presently have a discount for 3 months. Once it expires, the program will set the subscription to its original amount. You're eligible to get the discount whenever you buy QuickBooks directly; it is not available if you use first the trial one.
In addition, please know that you have the option to use an online tool that allows you to transfer your details directly from one account to another if your QBDT is out of date. For detailed information and the process, you can refer to this article: Move your books to QuickBooks Online with an online tool.
In case you need a specific report on how to verify if your data was imported correctly to QBO, you can read this artilce: Learn about switching from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
You can add a comment below if there's anything you need about subscriptions and managing financial data. I'm right here to help in any way I can, Lorraine. Take care and stay safe always!
You have to call Sales team to purchase QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus. Another option, you ca purchase it thru a partner and get $100 cashback.
