Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing different details to ensure you'll be able to reset a password in QuickBooks.
If you're using QuickBooks Desktop, there are different ways on how you can locate the license number. You can find it:
Within QuickBooks Desktop system.
Through Customer Account Maintenance Page (CAMPs).
Using the License Look Up tool.
To find your license number within QuickBooks Desktop, you'll have to press the F2 key and look for your license number in the Product Information window. Then, open this article to view further details: Find QuickBooks Desktop license info. This provides other steps on how to locate a Licence number.
On the other hand, if you're using QuickBooks Self Employed, the license number isn't necessary for resetting the password. You'll just have to Go to the QuickBooks Self-Employed sign-in page. Then, choose the I forgot my User ID or Password link and follow on-screen steps to recover sign-in info.
Additionally, if you used your email address or user ID to verify your account, you'll get an email with a password reset link. Please know that resetting your password for QuickBooks Self-Employed also resets it for your other Intuit products, like TurboTax or Mint.
Lastly, you may refer to each article below to view details on how QBSE is designed to help you record your self-employed income and expenses, track mileage, and prepare your Schedule C. Then, visit a specific website that contains do-it-yourself articles, training, and pro advice that will help you get familiar with QuickBooks Desktop.
Just add a comment below if you have additional questions about resetting the password in QuickBooks. I'd be happy to offer further help. Have a wonderful.
We have not entered 1099s all year but I do have totals for contractors. Is there a way I can enter a total in now to be able to prepare 1099s for contractors?
You'll want to sign up for our E-file service (standalone). This way, you can enter the totals of your contractors and prepare their 1099s forms and file it to the IRS. I'll show you how.
Enter your email address and select No, I'll enter my 1099 data. Then, click Continue.
If the email address you entered does not yet have an Intuit account, you will go through the standard process of creating an Intuit Account, and then select Sign Up.
If your email address already has an associated Intuit account, you will go through the standard sign-in process and select your company from there.
I'll be around to back you anytime you need help with your 1099s. Just add the details in your reply and I'll sprint back into action. Keep safe and have a great day ahead!
Thanks for being willing to help me. When I entered the information it pulled up my account but I still wasn't sure as to where to put the contractor totals. I went to vendors then contractors but was still not sure.
Let's change your email address with this easy steps outline below, Tim Petter.
I'm happy to help ensure you're able to change your contact information in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
Before digging into the solutions, ensure that you've access to your phone number. Sometimes, QuickBooks will ask for a code upon signing in to Intuit Account Manager. Once confirmed, you can now follow the steps below:
Go to Settings ⚙, then select Intuit Account to open the Intuit Account Manager.
Choose Sign-in & Security.
Enter your new email address on the box, then tap Done.
I've added an article about handling your company information, subscription, data, and security: Account management.
I always check my notifications to respond to all replies. That said, don't hesitate to leave a comment if you have other questions. I'm happy to help again. Be safe, Tim Petter.
Every time I try to sign in, and error message appears saying "You Don't Have Access To This Company" even though my boss already called you guys to make sure everything was set up correctly. So what do I do now?
Thanks for joining the thread, @Ainara. I’d be glad to help you fix this issue with the error message you encounter when logging in to your company.
A QuickBooks Self-Employed company is a single-user subscription. It's the reason why you encountered the error message mentioned above. As for a QuickBooks Online company, user roles are customizable.

Before we can accomplish your goal for today, may I ask for clarifications about your initial inquiry? Saying your account is temporarily unavailable, is this a prompt message you received upon login? Or is it an error message when trying to use a certain feature in QuickBooks?
Keep me updated in the comments below. Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. Take care always and stay safe!
I’d gladly assist you with your concern about banking transactions, @mt bank.
To start with, have you encountered a specific error when downloading your bank transactions? For this, we have various fixes available for that specific error. Also, I’d like to know what financial institution you are connected with. This way, we can double-check if there are similar issues reported to us.
Additionally, you can check your bank's website to see whether there are any alerts regarding the above-mentioned concern. This matter could be caused by it or system maintenance.
In the meantime, add your transactions manually into your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) by following the steps below:
Go to the Transaction menu from the left panel.
Select Add Transaction.
Choose a category under the Select a category menu.
Hi - I am unable to login to self employed Quickbooks. I enter my email and password and my computer just "thinks." I haven't had this happen before and I have tried two different browsers. Is there a system wide problem?
There's no log-in problem in the system. No worries, we can perform other possible solutions to log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account successfully.
First, I'd like to know what browsers you've tried. QuickBooks is currently supporting some. If you haven't tried the other compatible browsers in QuickBooks, I'd recommend using the following browsers. They are supported on both web and mobile devices:
Google Chrome: version 78 or newer
Mozilla Firefox: version 76 or newer.
Microsoft Edge: version 75 or newer
Safari: version 12 or newer (Mac only)
Opera: version 68 or newer
Samsung: version 10 or newer
Or, use an incognito window.
For Chrome, press and hold Ctrl + Shift + N
For Firefox, press and hold Ctrl + Shift + P
For Safari, press and hold Command + Shift + N
If logged in successfully to your account, clear the cache of the browser that you're currently using. You can reference the Clearing cache and cookies to fix issuesarticle for detailed guidance.
That helps you log in successfully. Still, you can reply to this thread and let us know how the information above works for you. I'm always around to help you log in to your QuickBooks account. Take care and stay safe.
