I’m having troubles with Recurring Transactions that are “Reminders”. Not only do they not disappear from the list after creating them, I don’t not get Reminders that my reminders are due. I’ve been working with Quick books support since April on this. Please tell me I’m not the only one with issues.
..
when trying to view bank transactions to match, they do not appear and system freezes
I tried to set up an employee as commission and I got this message Switching to commission-only will remove all current hourly pay types. If you need to add extra hourly earnings later, you can do that under 'additional earnings'.Note that overtime, holiday, and time-off policies are not available for commission-only employees. These pay types will be unassigned and their respective scheduled changes will be cancelled. Please review their additional pay types before confirming. does that mean it will change the type of payroll for existing employees>
I have been using QuickBooks for three years. When I used to upload my receipts, QuickBooks would scan and pull out all the data and would look for a bank transaction that matches and I would get green flag "transaction match". The scanning still works but matching doesn't. I used to tell people how great this feature was and how much faster it made entering my expenses. Now, when I upload a receipt, it is scanned, and all the data is correctly identified by QuickBooks, but the matching does not happen. If I go to the receipt section and "review" the receipt and select the right account (credit card) the receipt is from, and add a sales tax (otherwise you can't save). Then hit save and next, then close that receipt. The receipt is then matched to the bank transaction. Why do I have to do these steps when I never had to do them before? Why has Intuit made QuickBooks worse than it was before? It drives me mad and I no longer recommend QuickBooks to anyone and am thinking of lo

QBO does a lot, but many construction businesses pair it with a dedicated project management or estimating tool. We'd love to know what you're using:• Apps like Buildertrend, Procore, Knowify, CoConstruct, or something else entirely?• What does the app handle that QBO doesn't do natively?• How well does the integration actually work in practice?• And honestly — was the extra cost and setup worth it?Share your setup and any tips for others considering the same route.
Changes are coming to the QuickBooks Community, and we want to ensure that you know exactly what to expect when they are rolled out. Later this month, our community forum will be moving to a new hosting platform in order to allow us to better serve our community members. The new platform will provide improved performance, a more intuitive navigation, and enhanced discussion tools to create a smoother conversation experience. Why this is happening: As our community has grown, so have our standards for the experience we want to provide. The new platform gives us a stronger foundation that can scale with our users, support richer conversations, and equip community contributors with better tools to do what they do best. This is an investment in the long-term health and sustainability of this community, and we are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible. What to expect: The migration is scheduled for June 23rd. During the migration, the site will enter read only

I am trying to publish my profile. I have been getting the same error for the past month "there was an error creating a case, please try again later." I have ensured that my verification document is under 1MB. I keep getting a technical error when I try to chat with support. How can I fix this?
Employee was first paid mid-month advance by cheque, but was changed to direct deposit at month end. Now mid-month advance does not recognize direct deposit information in his profile. How can I fix this?
Essentially can an employee access multiple workforce accounts with the same email
ROE, the BLK form puts M08 - Dismissal/Terminated within probationary period to just M Dismissal. Can you please fix this?Thank you
Some construction businesses work across both residential and commercial projects — and the two can be quite different in terms of contract terms, billing cycles, tax treatment, and the level of documentation required. If that sounds like your business, how do you keep the two streams separate and reportable in QBO? Are you using Classes to separate residential vs commercial? Different customers/projects? Or do you keep them in separate QBO files altogether?Would love to hear what's working — and whether QBO gives you the visibility you need across both sides of the business.
Long construction jobs — whether it's a custom home build, a commercial fit-out, or a multi-phase renovation — need a sensible billing rhythm to keep cash flowing without overcomplicating the invoicing. How do you structure your progress billing in QBO? Do you invoice at fixed percentage milestones (30/60/10% for example)? Do you bill monthly against actual costs incurred? Or do you tie invoices to specific project milestones like 'foundation complete' or 'lock-up'?Also curious: how do you communicate progress to your clients — do you use the QBO estimate summary on the invoice, or do you supplement it with a separate schedule of values?
Ces colonnes apparaissent dans mon PDF que j'envoie aux fournisseurs, mais pas dans la page où je fais la conception du bon de commande
It's that time of year when construction businesses that pay subcontractors need to think about their T5018 (Statement of Contract Payments) reporting to the CRA.Are you extracting the data you need from QBO, or do you find yourself pulling it together manually from invoices and bank records? Is there anything in QBO that makes T5018 prep easier or harder? For anyone who hasn't come across this before: if your construction business pays subcontractors more than $500 in a calendar year, you're required to report those payments to the CRA — so it's worth making sure your vendor records in QBO are complete and accurate before you start.
GST/HST in construction isn't as simple as just adding 13% or 15% to every invoice. There are some real quirks that catch people out:- The holdback: HST doesn't become due on the holdback until it's actually payable, not when the main invoice goes out- New home builds vs renovations: different rules apply- Input Tax Credits (ITCs): are you claiming GST/HST back on all your eligible job costs?- Quebec: dealing with QST on top of GST adds another layerHave any of these caused you problems in QBO? Or have you developed a reliable process you'd like to share? We'd especially love to hear from bookkeepers and accountants who've worked out the best QBO setup for construction HST.
Pouvez-vous m’indiquer s’il existe une solution pour contourner cette limitation et obtenir une extraction globale ?
One thing that's easy to let slip in a busy construction business is tracking Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) or WSIB clearance certificates for your subcontractors. In most provinces you need to confirm a sub has a valid clearance letter before you pay them — or you could end up liable for their WCB premiums.Since QBO doesn't have a built-in compliance tracker for this, how are you managing it? Are you using vendor notes in QBO, a spreadsheet, a separate app, or something else?Extra question for anyone in multiple provinces: how do you handle the different WCB bodies (WorkSafeBC, WSIB in Ontario, WCB Alberta, CNESST in Quebec etc.)?
If you're doing construction work in Canada, you'll know all about the holdback — that 10% (or sometimes more) that clients are legally required to hold back under provincial lien legislation until the project is complete and the lien period has passed. The tricky part is reflecting this properly in QBO: the holdback affects your cash flow, it sits on your balance sheet as a receivable, and the HST timing rules around it are different from a regular invoice. How are you handling it? Have you set up a dedicated 'Holdback Receivable' account? Do you use a separate invoice line, a credit note, or something else entirely? Would love to hear what's working — especially if you've found a clean way to handle the HST timing too.
I had previously posted about my experience using Claude with QB. ...when I tried to post a response to Jocelyn QB employee's response I received an error message. There are videos on YouTube about how to connect Claude to QB. The level of executing a task or answering a question with Claude vs Intuit AI is like night a day. When I asked Claude a question I would get an answer. When I asked Intuit a question instead of answering the question it gave step-by step instructions on how to log on to the plat form and complete the task myself....
